I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of an online translator that will give me the Romanized spelling of Korean names. I have a class starting next week and I need to be able to read my attendance sheet (not learned to read hanguel yet!).
If anyone can help I'd be most grateful.

I don't think anything like that exists. Unless it is flesh and blood.

You can get by using student numbers. Each student has a number from 1 - 20 ormore for boys and from 1- 14 or more for girls.

Use a class list that is similiar to that Korean teachers use, have your coteacher translate!!! They are paid to do this . I have a classlist in the teaching folder on my Batcave site below. Download that.

Babblefish, http://babelfish.altavista.com/ is doing a better job translating Korean. But for names , you'll still get the meaning, not a phonetic output.

learn to read - you can do that in a couple hours by yourself.

There are only 24 letters and you can match most of them up to English sounds.... It'll be slow going at first and you might mispronounce a bit but its worth is....

Romanized spellings won't help you as they don't sound like they are spelled in English... I prefer to see the Korean when trying to read names...

Put the name or whatever you want in the middle box in korean, and it will give you the MCT format in english characters. Not for translating obviously, but is helpful even for vets like me sometimes.
