Really? I heard that some places there don't have a problem with foreigners. |

Thetravelling, there are other sites for pay-for-play sexual encounters.
I doubt the folks running this site look kindly on posters advertising sex tourism here. |

I had a bad experience on the 588. Friggin bus driver accelerated so hard I nearly flew out the back window.
I hate the 588. |

588 is a red light district.
I've no problems with people visiting prostitutes, but I've never understood why someone would want to meet up with complete strangers for the sole purpose of seeking them out. |

Because I doubt that it's very safe to go there alone, and none of my friends are into that kind of thing. Is it safe to go there alone? Maybe during the day it's ok? |

I have a couple of stories regarding "Texas' "
Back in 2000 when I first started teaching in Korea, I met up with some soldiers that had been there a month and were completely tired of the Itaewon scene and wanted to know where the average Korean would go for some action....so I took them on the "Late-night, red-light tour" of
the Mia, Yongsan station, Chonnyngni, and Yungdeungpo red-light districts in Seoul.
Their mouths literally dropped to the ground at how drop-dead gorgeous the girls were, hotter than anything they saw thus far in Korea. But when one of them ran up to the door to proposition one, they slammed the door and drew the curtain closed, sadly that was the mood we felt all night, but we didn't give a shiite because it was one helluva window-shopping trip... |

My ex who was an Edae student once told me one of her profs said that the average size of a Korean male's pepper was 10 cm or about 4 inches.
At the Yongsan RLD I asked one of the girls there many years ago how long the average Korean customer took to do the deed. She said about 5 minutes.
I call this the "5-4 Rule." If you are a working girl, are you going to want to service guys who have 4 inch johnsons and be finished in 5 minutes, or for the same price, some whitey with a 6 or 7 inch schlong who takes 15 or 20 minutes? In this respect, I can sort of sympathize with the girls.
It does not help matters that all us roundeyes have AIDS to boot. |

My, what a high class thread THIS is. Brothels tend to deny foreigners entry, except in Itaewon, Yeosu, a few other places. Also, King said:
"If you are a working girl, are you going to want to service guys who have 4 inch johnsons and be finished in 5 minutes, or for the same price, some whitey with a 6 or 7 inch schlong who takes 15 or 20 minutes? In this respect, I can sort of sympathize with the girls."
If that were the real reason for their objection, couldn't they just charge whitey more? I suspect the ban on foreigners is more designed to protect the industry from disapproving eyes, and save face as a country that SWEARS it's conservative and more moral than the west. It's also a way to avoid getting busted for their technically illegal activities. The few times I've heard of Korean authorities actually giving grief to a brothel, it's when they've been asked to enforce the existing laws by the U.S. Military. The USFK top brass DO NOT like it when their soldiers go get hookers, for many reasons. In fact, it was pressure from the U.S. that led to the largely symbolic outlaw of The Trade in 2004.
And don't refer to their penises as Johnsons. We have Johnsons, theirs should have an appropriately shorter, less masculine name..... Kims. Four-inch Kims. |

Ah, you are trying to be logical here. Nice try!
Actually, another reason is that Korean customers will be less inclined to visit brothels known to accept Western men, since the girls will be considered "polluted" or some such thing.
I'm curious if you have any sources for your claim that the 2004 crackdown was a result of USFK pressure, or the U.S. gov't. My understanding was that it was the Ministry of Gender Equality (the Yosong-bu) that was the main impetus for that. But I could be wrong... |
