|
|
Did anybody see the brawl in Gagnam on saturday, it looked like about 20 Koreans or more attacked 4 guys (3 white's and a Korean). At one point they was 5 Koreans beating down on 1 white guy. His face was busted up,one of the other white guy was bleeding badly from the ear.
Has anyone ever seen a Korean fight 1 on 1, it always seems like they attack in groups. I find the young Koreans who hang around Gagnam and Hongdae to generally be cowards. I hate stereotypes, but its so easy to spot all the insecure, racist guys in those parts of the city. |

At what time of day and where did this event occur? Did the police come to the rescue of the victims and did you see all of it?
This report is one of the most disturbing of it's kind I've ever read on Dave's. |

The guys got away in a taxi, it was late night, when most stupid stuff happens, but it was pretty brutal, the 5 on 1 beating was ugly, i think someone kicked one of the korean guys off so the guy was able to run away.
It happened behind the Harlem and M2 clubs, there's a club behind those 2 clubs that doesn't allow foreigners, with a big wheel or something, I forget the name.
I saw the guy with the cut in his ear, it was pretty ugly, blood pouring out, I imagine the other guy was in worse shape. |

Well good for you for trying to stop the fight, hey?
My friend and I got jumped by Korean guys a week ago, for saying the 'f' word while walking past them.
This is not the first time I have been jumped by Koreans, either.
There are 2 ways of looking at it - back home, someone would probably have been killed/shot.
In Korea, well, could have been worse, could have been better. Surprisingly though the last time, there were a lot of Koreans trying to help me and my friend - when I say we got jumped, we did literally get jumped - came out of nowhere (wow that sounds so gay, haha). |

i really have a distaste for gangnam station these days - the bars get polluted with korean hiphop posers after the clubs close, all looking to prove themselves after not scoring any ladies. ran into quite a few anti-white gyopos there as well.
and yeah i'll bet there are a few spots in hongdae that are quite similar.
funny how people usually condemn itaewon as the nasty place full of people looking to fight (as in, foreigners). the natives aren't so innocent, and i think are a lot more liable to go in for cheap shots. i mean, come on, they're cowards even verbally - i've usually heard stuff said to me mumbled under their breath as someone walks by...never directly to my face.

I am sure I will cop something for this, but do you people find Korean men to be the biggest fags when it comes to fighting? In all the fights I have ever seen in Korea, they all involved one or more beating someone on their own or with very little assistance. I generally just read stuff here and don't post much any more, but this one I couldn't help but add my own $0.02 worth. |

The only place I've seen one on one fights is on TV.
There are no rules in street fighting. If I want to break a bottle in half and cut someone, then I will. Fighting on the street is not a Tae Kwon Do competition. Its either you win or lose. |

Amen. It's like fighter pilots in WW2. The way to make ace was to shoot as many people in the back as possible.
I'm not trying to justify the violence, but I don't see any fundalmental difference between 20 guys beating up 1 or 1 guy beating up another using a bottle or sucker punch (things we commonly would see back home.) It's all about pushing the odds in your favor. Honor has nothing to do with drunken idiots working out their inadequacies.
Me? I've been here 6 years and been with the same girl for 5. Never been in a fight or even close. Heard a few things muttered while we were dating, but not since the kids came. I must be going to the wrong places.

And do both people win in a TKD competition? I think not. One day when you cut someone up and get sent to jail for being a gutless poofter for not being able to shape up and fight like a man, you will deserve every ass raping you get pkang0202. |

I would have helped but the guys did a good job getting out of the situation rather quickly. They even got a few punches in, i wouldnt be surprised if the kick the big guy gave knocked out the one of the Korean guys that were beating on the smaller guy and thats when he got away, when that happened we left the area pretty quickly as well, as there was a rather unforeigner friendly mood in the air.
I actually met some pretty cool gyopos(still hiphop wannabes) before the fight and we had a few beers and punched the punching machines a few times, had the old u should only punch with 1 hand argument and a few laughs, but i had a feeeling the korean guys involved in the fight were bouncers/gangsters. |

No the adult thing to do isn't to 'shape up and fight like a man' it's to walk away and not start fights in the first place. If that's not an option, you could try running. Otherwise, if I was in the situation where 5 guys were trying to beat me up, I'd sure as hell use whatever weapons were to hand. |

It was not a fight, it was a display of cowardess by a bunch of people, i really hope the kick the big guy gave the korea knocked him out cold, because there was 5 guys beating on who I assume is his friend.
From what I saw, one Korean guy came running from behind and jumped one guy in the group, then all of a sudden Koreans started rushing in from everywhere (coulda be 20-30 people), it seems like each foreigner had to deal with 3-6 guys and the Korean friend did a good job of getting them out of there..
There really was anti-foreigner sentiment after that, we had a chair thrown after us by an drunken ajosshi right after it happen and the mood was unpleasant, so we left. |

Tonight, I was sitting on the subway minding my own business.
A Korean guy steps up right in front of me and starts flexing his muscles and talking trash to me. He points to the ground (by where my feet are planted) and says "line." He motioned for me to move my feet behind the line that he was he drawing.
I got up out of my seat and walked into the next subway car.
He then took the seat that I was formerly sitting in.
When I got off the subway, I looked back at the sub car and he was angrily pointing two fingers at me. The Koreans around him were laughing and shaking their heads.
I am not a fighter and in a lawless place like South Korea and anywhere for that matter, I prefer to avoid trouble whenever possible. |
