...to meet his family and share a meal.
What should I bring as a token of my thanks/appreciation?
Cheers. |

While Spam is a tasty treat, I would recommend some fruit. Any fruit. It's a typical and appreciated gift. You can't go wrong with fruit. |

A cake of some description would be good. One of the Paris Baguette varieties usually does the trick. |

Bring something you would want to eat. Mostly likely, whatever you bring will be served right there. You can't go wrong with fruit or a cake. |

Maybe a fine bottle of alcohol for the Mr?
Don't buy 4 gifts. 4 is unlucky. |

Get fruit.
Remember, here, the packaging is more important than the gift itself. |

What about being invited to a Korean family's Chuseok celebrations? |

You were being scammed. (handkerchief)
However, for a housewarming party, take a bottle of dish soap or laundry detergent. (Bubbles mean 'good luck' for some reason. Another alternative is a big bag of toilet paper. Don't ask.

You are a legend only in your own mind, jinju. How many years have you been doing the same tired schtick?

Same gift ideas. IMPORTANT NOTE: Dress up for that gig. The ceremony is to honor the ancestors. A clean pair of jeans WON'T cut it. |
