My friend arrived this week without a Visa and hates her hogwon. She wants to know if she can just quit and start at a new hogwon since she hasn't yet gotten her visa for the first one? Thanx

How far into it is she? Has she given them papers? Gotten an ID number to go get the Visa?

If I were her, I'd stop working immediately, go to immigration (assuming that she has sent paperwork there for her visa issuance number) and tell them she wants to seek out another school. I think she'll be OK, as long as she hasn't overstayed, and doesn't tell them she's been working.

As long as the visa issuance number has NOT been applied for she can just walk away without any problem.

IF the visa issuance number HAS been applied for she may be screwed for up to 90 days (the validity period of the confirmation of the visa).

lol make sure she doesn't tell immigration that she has been working at a hagwon and would like to change before she gets her visa. Because they will smile a lot and she will get in trouble.
