I fight for love every day. I see no love when women make accusations at men and offer no evidence ... where is the love in that? I've said twice I might have agreed, but the evidence was never there, only the accusation - and the complaint, that "Oh dear, people are saying bad things about the girls!"

I don't think you are going to be able to demonstrate that school boards drug up kids to save money. It is individual teachers who most often (oddly enough, they think a lowly B.Ed qualifies them to suggest medication) push parents towards medication. And this happens as often in private schools with low student teacher ratios as it does in public ones that have slightly higher ratios.

Besides, Rit costs 60$/month or so.

I think we should instead be looking at lazy teachers (of both genders) who don't want to deal with the reality that boys will be boys.

I'm a piker compared to her. But you think she's alright. Let's sit and ponder for a moment why that might be.
...
I'm sure that is true, but it is nothing to be proud of. I've said several times that I was willing to change my opinion if shown a convincing argument or some actual examples of the hate you have spoken of. It has happened in the past, elsewhere. You didn't even try. You made insults at me, and then expanded the group of people you don't like - who, coincidentally are only other guys whose opinions you dislike.
...
You told me and the whole world that you think I make excuses for men who do violence against women - that was your opening salvo on this thread, and you've expressed nothing like honest regret for such an unprovoked tirade.
...
I have noticed that when you get into acrimonious disputes in these discussions, it is exclusively with male posters. When you come to someone's defense or decide to support another poster, that poster is just about always female, almost never male. It's hard not to notice that, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has.

Bob, what's going on with you? There are so many things in this post that are simply, factually untrue or unprovable.
-Periwinkle didn't say that she thought Bramble was alright. She said you both escalated the argument, and she was right.
-Periwinkle searched for threads that would prove her point (you haven't addressed whether they exist or not, which is odd considering that was the point of this discuss) and made reference to them when she couldn't find them.
-Periwinkle did NOT accuse you of making excuses of men who are violent toward women. I actually went back and had a look at the tempest in the teapot. Let's have another peek:

HE SAID:
Nobody really hates women. Sometimes we love them the wrong way. Most of the time, we don't understand you for the exact reasons we don't understand ourselves. You gals don't always yourselves, either. Hopefully, we figure it out, later. Hopefully.
Okay, I take it back, there are a tiny minority who are simply sick. Haven't noticed many around here, though. If a guy has a different opinion than some particular woman, doesn't mean he hates all a ya, though.

Also, there's the guys who are just pullin' your chain. Please exclude them from the rest of us who simply disagree about one or two things. That's the way things really are. People disagree sometimes. Really. Disagreement does ot equal hate, though.
[/quote]

SHE said:
You should read some true crime by Ann Rule. Generally they are about murdered women. That should change your opinion a bit that "nobody hates women". If you've got an excuse for the guy (can't remember book title right now) that liked to abduct, rape, torture, and kill young women (and cut off their b r e a s t s and make construct plastic mouldings around them), I'd like to hear it.

It's just flat disagreement. It's not an accusation. It's an expression. You took offence and she apologized. Twice. If you'll allow me...

Quote:
Well, sorry Bobster

and then
Quote:
I really didn't mean to insult you Bobster....Honestly, I can't believe you took it so personally, and I really am sorry to have offended you.

What more do you want?

Periwinkle has stood up for Just Another Day (who is a guy.) She mentioned this and you ignored it. I pointed out that most of the posters around here are male, and there are relatively few bombastic and controversial female posters here. Anyway, who cares about gender? You bring it up over and over again, and I don't think anyone else is that bothered about whether the poster they're addressing or attacking is male or female.

I just can't understand how you've extrapolated so much. I think you're very very very quick to judge but you rely more on "intuition" than fact, and sometimes that leads you wildly off-base. You're sounding ultra-sensitive and suspicious, and prone to grand pronouncements about other people's motives when in fact you know very little for certain.

I suspect this plea is a waste of time, and the argument is pretty much over now, but please, Bob, in future, would you be willing to give people the benefit of the doubt from time to time? If you have a suspicion or if you are offended, just ASK-- "are you saying I'm making excuses for rapists?" instead of instantly summoning up a vendetta.

Confused

There's really not much to say to all this, is there?

(BTW, didn't Periwinkle get into a fight with Corporal a while back? How did that ultimately turn out?)

I've heard that Buddhists believe that rape is OK - as long as it's done in moderation ... Surprised

Er, yeah.

Well, sorry - it stems from my childhood.

Kids used to make fun of me 'cause of my big nose. My mom loved me, but my only friend was a big rat ...
(Hey, I got a million of 'em ...)

And shouldn't it be spelled "msogynist"?

Just to refresh your memories, this post was originally a joke.

Most of you do not seem to know what misogynist actually means.

Here is a good example of usage:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0058385/

Look at the plot outline.

Quote:
Plot Outline: A misogynistic and snobbish phonetics professor agrees to a wager that he can take a flower girl and make her presentable in high society.

I believe the term most of you are thinking of is "chauvinist."

But I really don't care. You're all a bunch of bloody loonies.

Big things can come from fairly ephemeral occurances. The OP was crass, but it doesn't matter.

Mysoginism has hardly been discussed in this thread.

You know, you could cut out most of these inane polls/threads if you'd all just check out:

www.nomarriage.com

The men for validation and vindication; the women for answers to a lot of the "why don't men...?" questions that always crop up.

If people from both sexes are being honest with themselves in ANY way, they'll see a lot of truth in the opinions/observations/advice dispensed on that site...even if it is poorly-written in some places!
