I went last July.

Beautiful! (El Nido was better, thoguh)

I LOVE LOW SEASON!!

Saw some Korean ladies walking down the beach in high heels and carrying their PRADA and Louis Vuiton hand bags LOL!!!

They moved down the beach in packs of about 8 - 12 people.

If anyone is going down there.. ask around and find out how much it would cost to manage or run or rent or buy anyone of those businesses down there.. Id love to do something like that.

Just thought i'd add to this after the fact...

Boracay was great!
It's comperable to PhiPhi in Thialand, actually reminded me alot of it.

In July it would probably had been better to just go there instead of making a reservation. Fairly easy to shop around for a place in the low season.

The people were friendly and only a "little" pushy when it came to selling stuff. I remember one time a woman came to us on the beach and asked if we wanted a massage. We said no and had a one minute conversation then she walked away. Two days later she walked up to us remembering our names (!!) ... we decided it was worth paying for the massage then.

If oyu want to pamper yourself and have a spare $50 go to "pearl of the pacific" for a massage. It was the best i've had in my life.

Here are a few pics from the place... and yes, the sunsets WERE a different color each night.

I'm planning a second trip to Boracay next month. I was told that the winds around this time of year require that the beaches have wind shields.

So is the island worth going in the offseason? I was there in April and cannot describe in words how great the experience was.

One of my co-workers is in Boracay right now as I type this. I'll ask him next time I get a chance.

Last time I was in Boracay, I noticed the White Sand Beach to not be windy at all. The other side, where windsurfers go, seems to perpetually be windy.

I'm not 100% sure, but the Philippine domestic carrier Asian Spirit now offers direct service from Incheon to Kalibo, which is a two-hour bus ride to the island.

What are the chances of getting decent accommodation without reservation in EARLY December? I've been checking the travel sites and all are quite pricey, but I'm thinking that's the price that the places would LIKE to get.

Excellent chance to get OK digs for cheap any time except XMAS, New Year and Holy week.

Walk down the beach and look for the signs. there are rooms behind Alice's that ususally run from P800 per night and less for long term. Lots of the nicer hotels have walk in rates that are under p2000 including breakfast as well.

If you get a block back from the beach you can get hotels with pool/air/TV/fridge/phone and breakfast from p1500.

Rates are based on room per night and double occupants.

Thanks for the tip. I got tickets to Kalibo from Incheon for 418,000 won tax included flying Asian Spirit. Screw Jeju Island, Boracay is the place to go.
