If any of you native Chicagoans want to point me to a good restaurant in the vicinity of Hilton Chicago at 720 S. Michigan ave. downtown, I'd sure appreciate it....

For lunch, try Heaven on Seven. It's a little bit north of you, but well worth the trip.

111 N Wabash. 7th floor.

I prefer Leona's, on Sheffield... it's up in Wrigleyville.

For lunch in the Loop, try Harry's Sandwich Shop, 53 West Jackson in the Monadnock Building... great sandwiches, and good soup, and friendly staff.... and you can practice your Korean on the ajumma there. She's been there 25 years or something. Last time I went there, I hadn't been in town in 5 years, she says, "Hi, you're downtown today? You order reuben & Dr. Pepper?" which I swear is exactly what I had ordered 5 years ago...

Oasis Cafe: great Lebanese food

Some good dives in Chicago that you should check out before the entire city becomes one big condo/Starbucks/Whole Foods nightmare:

Beef N' Brandy

Billy Goat's Tavern

Leona's is good. They actually have several branches around town. But nothing downtown.

Those who know Panago Pizza (Panagopolous Pizza) from B.C. Canada, I have to say i went to college with the president of that company and I was the vice president of marketing in the provincial management contest we won that he took credit for as c.e.o. of our college competition team: he was a friggin' people person who did NOTHING but took credit for everyone's work, with irish charm.

It helped me realize the corporate world was not for me, and it helped him rise to the top.

At least he was a U2 fan. I'll give him that.

Pana *beep* go!
