Perhaps it's because I'm a little tired today, but for some reason that really made me laugh. |

Here is how I view it going down, from left to right.
Queen: 1. "Oh my heaven, what is that?"
2. "Damn, cameras are on us. I'm the Queen, I'm the Queen."
3. "Jeeeeeeezuus Christ!"
Philip: 1. "Oopps"
2. "Tee Hee"
3. "That was awesome!"
Prince: 1. "I wonder who just let one rip!"
2. "Grampa! You rule!"
3. " Oh man, thats bloody rancid"
Margaret: 1. "Blimey, this hat is ridiculous"
2. " Bloody hell, was that you Philip?"
3. " You're wicked, wicked, wicked;)"
Charles: 1. "Lah di dah di dah"
2. " Did I miss something?"
3. " I dont get it, whats so bloomin funny?"
( I'm predicting there was a leisurely wind blowing in the opposite direction) |

Maybe the old King did?
By the way... did the old King step down as King a long time ago? Why? What brought that on? |

If your refering to prince Philip, he was never the king - he is the husband of the queen and that makes him the prince - if the queens husband could become king he would be seen as more powerful than the actual head of state. Kings wives on the other hand can become queens because of their naturual inferiority.
We did have a king abodicate the throne at the begining of the second world, the official reason being he wanted to marry an american divorcee, the fact he was sympathetic towards the nazis was probably the real reason. The next king was queen Elizabeth's father and when he died suddenly the Elizabeth took the throne.
God help us when Charles takes over, it will be the end of the common wealth, however personally I am warming to him. |

Where's Margaret? Answer, she is dead. I think you were refering to Princess Anne (the Queen's daughter). |

Oh, come on! The real reason Edward VIII abdicated the throne was that he wished to marry Wallace Simpson. There was no legal bar to him marrying her and still retaining the crown. Had he married Ms. Simpson against the opposition of the Govenment, there would have been a general election as the Government of the day would have resigned and it could have been seen as the King forcing that instead of remaining politically neutral. The article linked above has more information on his alleged "pro-Nazi" proclivity. Your supposed "real reason" smacks of conspiracy theory hand-waving.
The wife of the King would be titled Queen but on the King's death would not reign as Sovereign. She is not in the Line of Succession because she's not "the Queen," but, rather, "the Queen Consort."
I seriously doubt that the Commonwealth of Nations will dissolve if Charles becomes King. Quite a few of the member countries are either republics (32 countries) or have their own monarchs (5 countries). |

My mistake. We only ever had the picture of the queen in our classroom so I was guessing at most of them. |
