It's my last day at work at this school, and it happens to be my birthday. Got no problem with working on the day of my nativity, but, um, I decided this time ... not gonna work.

Oh, I'll BE there, don't worry. But it's snack parties, all afternoon. Choco-pies till the sun comes down. Might even have a glass of beer at lunch, which I've never done since I started teaching kids. Might even play "Hangman." (gasp)

Yes, I call myself a professional. But it's just one day. And it's my last day. And it's my birthday.

So, deal with it.

No objections, and Happy Birthday! Smile

It's your last day with them, so go off with a bang I say. So long as the parties, games etc. are done in English, I don't see the problem with having a good time with your kids before your farewell.

Enjoy your day I say!

You have my blessing to enjoy your doubly blessed day of birth and last day of work.

You've pretty much just described my normal Friday, minus the choco-pies.

I think all of us would be a lot more cautious about what we post on Dave's if we knew that later it would be read aloud to an audience in a hushed town with sentimental music playing in the background.
