(+ rafting, swimming, sailing, horse riding and anything else outdoors and fun.)
Korea has some great places for outdoors enthusiasts. Let's use this thread to post up photos, brief details and any advice about outdoors activities you've being enjoying in Korea.

I'm an active rock climber. As it turns out, there are quite a few sport-climbing expats and military folk here in Korea.
Korea on the Rocks -- www.koreaontherocks.com -- is really the best place to go for topo, beta, and getting together with other like-minded folks. |

Cheers for the rock climbing link. Here are a few other useful links for bikers.
www.wildbike.co.kr A leading Korean mtb site, though there are loads and loads of other region specific sites too.
www.mtbk-adventure.com The main site for expat mountainbikers.
http://user.chollian.net/~boonstra/korea/cycle.htm The cycle touring homepage of Jan Boonstra, a Dutch engineer based in Busan with loads of cool photos. |

I just got back from 5 days on Ganghwa-do. Great place to bike and there's a good campsite right by Jeongsusa. Do not go to Dongmak beach to camp.
I've been to a lot of the islands right around Incheon. If anyone's interested in some good recommendations, feel free to PM me. I've also posted trip reports on my blog. |

Here's a couple of shots of biking near Seoul. Don't know why they are so small though - I'm working on it
The first was taken on Surisan, which is accessible from line 4's Sanbon station. It always pays to befriend the Korean riders though, as they know the trails and will invite you to a post-ride lunch.
The second shot was from near Yang-Su-Ri on the way out to Yangpyeong. A friend did all the driving and navigating though, so I'm not too sure where it is.
I'll try to post up some more but, as the wildbike site is running really slowly, I'll have to do it bit by bit.

And here is the Han river a bit east of Seoul.

oh you!
Pest, you do lots of road riding. Do you have many pictures of nice Korean rural scenery? |

I do, but I not because I take my camera out with me on rides (like, what happens if it rains? Plus camera is heavy and I imagine it making me go slower on the climbs). However, I have some great photos of the Korean countryside I took on hikes and from my car. However, I dont have any way to hot link them on here..... |

If you've posted them up on other sites you can often just copy and paste the properties and put them up here. It doesn't work with every site unfortunately - I can use my photos on wildbike but not mtbr.com.
So you never take your camera out biking? A bulky one is it? I've got a nice little Canon S80 that fits nicely into my shorts pocket. The LCD's already smashed though, when the camera took the brunt of a crash.
Anyone got any photos from Cholla-Do by the way? All my photos are pretty Seoul-centred

I've got 2 cameras and one of em I could take w/me on my bike, but experience tells me its a bad idea... Anyway, here are pretty much all the photos I've ever taken on hikes or from my car. They're all from either Jeju or Gangwondo
