Did you know that I was asked by the Bakersfield School district to remove the slang section of my website?

I refused, and I'm now proud to say that Dave's ESL Cafe is banned in Bakersfield, California. Is that something to be proud of or what? Embarassed

Cheers,

Dave

While I appreciate this forum, as do many others, you seem to have employed moderator-nazis who lean toward a neo-victorian interpretation of this colorful language which is our mandate, our racket, to convey. Sorry I missed you. Have a blast in Chiang Mai, or L.A., or wherever this life takes you.

What's this?!.... Have six months passed already? Is it that time of year again? Are we going to play the "Mods are Nazis for not letting me swear!" game now?

Oh goody goody gumdrops! This is almost as good as the "Western Women Are Feminazis Who Should Be More Like The Delicate Vision Of Womanliness That Are Korea Girls!" game and the "Canadians Suck, No Americans Suck" game!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I'm so happy~!

I think the best way to respond to this would be to use a hypothetical neo-SpockZenBuddhist saying like "The abuses of the few lead to hardships for the many." You wouldn't believe the garbage that some have tried to post here which only remained on the board a few minutes thanks to the moderators. Comparing us to Nazis simply weakens your argument and is not worthy of a Sage nor a Cool person. It may help you to think of this place as a movie- we're aiming for a PG or AA rating, not R or X; There are many other places on the internet you can go to for R or X rated content.

Hi Dave--
I like your site... whether I'm in Korea or in the states- very useful.
For some reason, I thought you had taught in korea before or had lived there... guess i was wrong!

Good eye.

Left eye, that is.

This picture contrasts it quite nicely:

Nope. Not showing up. No sleeping guy.

BTW, I guess half the posters on this old thread are dead now, right?

And the posts themselves Shocked Very, very out of character for most people here. Were you all on something when you posted? Confused
