Anyone heard the songs yet?
Is it innovation or is it just that they made a *beep* album and the record label dropped it and this is the only way to get publicity for themselves....? |

They could make an album of songs about caravans and still sell loads. They have a very loyal fan base. |

The dumbest fan base in music. Even Weird Al has a smarter fanbase, and he makes better music. |

I like anything from classical to good rock music. I dont really have a "favorite" as I would rather not limit myself to anything. Loyalty to anything but family is for people with severe co-dependency issues.
But Radiohead sucks. |

Wierd Al is a bad example for your case, as the man is a modern genius. Indeed even for Radiohead to be mentioned in the same breath is an honor. Wow..Thom would be pleased. As far as I am aware he was greatly inspired by the Al.
Who the f*ck is Wierd Al? Lets not bring up obscure north americans in these discussions..i have no idea. By name alone he sounds like a special boy.

Problem is, fortunately, I'm not going through puberty anymore. So the excellent albums like Pablo Honey, The Bends and OK computer were a god send then. But now I don't need to depress myself.
I'm sure people still find the albums excellent but I've gone away from the guitary, singy kind of music. But in their time they were excellent and ground breaking.
I was planning a lesson last week at home and started to get upset half the way through. Realised that Windows media player had ended up at 'paranoid Android' and it had nothing to do with the present continuous. Although maybe that's the problem with most radiohead songs. And the future! And not real plastic oaks. |

Jinju, for lack of better words and empathy, you're an idiot.
Why would you post 3 or 4 times simply to bash a band?
Please enlighten me on what talents you have that supercedes 10 years of non-stop musical creativity?
ps. feel free to attack my spelling of supercedes and dodge the issue |

touche!
actually ... i'm a fan of radiohead ... regardless though, i'm going to throw $5 in for this album.
why?
not because i love radiohead ... but because the money goes directly to the band. usually, musicians make around 10% of the CD sales. in my opinion, this is wrong ... completely wrong.
musicians should make at least 75% of the profit for their work.
paying for this album sends a good message to the industry ... the artists should profit, not the companies who own them. it also promotes a direct relationship with the artist by paying them for their music.
the current model being completely unethical ... the industry might realise that they need to change their ways. further, more artists might try and sell their music directly to fans, by following radiohead's lead.
there was a good story on america's abc news today, and the newsreader jokingly said that radiohead might make more money from their album this way ... rather than selling CDs ... and i think he might be right.
this is a great way to piss off the recording industry cartel, the riaa (whose mandate was to protect artists, never to protect copyright) and change the model of selling music.
buy radiohead's album ... and bring on the revolution! |
