They seem to be quite similar. Any significant differences?
Also, preferences, and why? |

Facebook is far more user friendly and intuitive. In the first day I signed up, I got connected with all my old friends from grade school. It's much harder to find my friends on there whose last names I don't know, particularly my friends over here. Facebook never breaks down, although sometimes some of the add-ons mess up. The most annoying thing about Facebook is the invitations you get all the time "You have been attacked by a zombie!" "So-and-so invites you to install super-wall." "So-and-so invites you to install super-mega-wall." My favourite thing about Facebook is the Scrabulous application.
MySpace breaks down a lot and is saturated with ads. The search function is less reliable than this site's, and it's impossible to search groups. Hell, just searching through your friends list for one name can take forever. You also get a lot of adds from bands, which might be good for some people and bad for others. You get adds from a lot of crazies you don't know.
Also, have a look at this.

Facebook seems to dominate bigtime. Setup 1000 times better and all kind of applications - i'm playing holdem poker on it right now.
Myspace...i setup an account, but never use it. Nothing really to do there (in my opinion).
Facebook is addictive, myspace is not. |

MySpace had its time. Fox bought it for way too much, and the property devalued in a few months. All I can say is ha! |

Thanks for the responses, guys! If it's not too much trouble, I'm also wondering:
Does FaceBook have a blog function? And if so, is it any good? |

I assume it does, but those things seem like a waste of time to me. |

yeah, you can post notes, which are basically blogs. any of your friends can see them.
i prefer facebook. it's cleaner and better organized than myspace. and it's totally addictive. lots of applications, mostly useless ones that don't really do it for me. but as long as i've got 7 games of scrabble going on, i'm a happy grrl.
the events app is cool too. you can post an event and invite people to it. it allows people to see who else is coming, post pics, and stuff.

The one problem is that it's less fun to browse, because you have to be someone's friend to see their profile. |

MySpace is for 15 year old girls, pedophiles, and bad bands.
Long live Facebook. |

My account just got phished/hacked and some asswipe sent stupid spam messages to all my friends. It wasn't anything I did because I hadn't signed on in about a week, it's just easier to break into somehow.
Plus, some people's pages are so full of crap they're hard to read, or take forever to load, or blast loud crappy music every time you go to their page. What's stupid is you can set the song on your own profile not to play when you view it, but not when you look at other people's pages.
Myspace sucks. |

You get invitations to be friends with people/ acquintances you hardly know, or don't particularly want to invite into your inner circle.Because people think its a competition to see who can sign up the most friends. |

True, but it is also a really easy way to meet girls, too. |

They're both for people who can't get out of the past though. Make new friends where you are you f#$ing losers! Your real friends back home are on MSN messenger anyway.
Also, if you're on there for new friends, you need to learn to go out and socialize face to face! |

Uh, hello? This is Korea, not exactly the most sociable place in the world, correct? |

I disagree. I didn't get started on Facebook until I got here, and almost all my friends are people I've met in Korea. It's just an easy and convenient way to keep in touch with friends. I'm not big on talking on the phone, so sending messages on Facebook is an easy way to keep in contact. |
