Seoul has a problem with wires.
In my area, there are so many wires between poles that it's become an unsightly mess. It was getting so bad, that I think the GU finally got on the main source of the problem: the local cable company. Being near a school, we have lots of people (students, mostly) who steal cable. The cable company regularly comes by and cuts the lines if someone is not paying. The problem is, the lines are left there dangling in the wind, in trees, on other wires, etc. It's dangerous. They also cut the wires (and don't clean up) if someone just cancels cable. Here is a look up at what the street looks like from above:
So today, I noticed that the cable company had four guys working in front of our school -- all day -- doing nothing but cleaning out old wires. This is the result:
Things are looking a bit better. |
