| How does anyone know where thoughts (or dreams = sleep thoughts) come from? |

Sorry, I was kidnapped...long story, happy ending.
As I mentioned my essay last night was at 2000+ words trying desperately to articulate my answers. There is no way I'm going to post something in such rough form and get murdered here by the critics; so, I'll condense dramatically:
I am not an animal. I am the spirit that resides in the animal who has cultivated "cosmic consciousness" through much inner work. Cosmic consciousness takes me to a place where one detaches and learns to think from a non-human perspective. In this state one drops the ego and all the petty human emotions, gazes across eternity and Knows that this special connection with the Infinite can never die. Animals die. I am not an animal.
If everything is this world and beyond is connected, and it takes little observation to see this -- well then, there is only One thing. If there is only One thing, then my thoughts must originate from this Oneness. I can not have an independent thought that does not require this connection no matter how much my human ego wants me to believe so. My thoughts come from this Oneness I speak of and I realize this while practicing cosmic consciousness. |

So you are looking at things purely from a philosophical viewpoint?!
You are trying to create a new cosmic religion?! |

Nothing new about it. Best book written on the subject I've found is Cosmic Consciousness by Dr. Bucke (published around 1900).
It is a case by case study listings of individuals throughout history who have achieved this state on various levels |

Merlot, do you swear that you're not Seoul Unitarian writing under a different moniker?
I recently got his book in the mail.
If you folks are interested, I'll tell you about it after I finish reading it.
