Bumping this because I picked up a cord today but then discovered that my tv has no S-video! The cord I have has an S-video (on both ends), and then one end has red and white and the other has an input for the audio speaker plug on my computer. My computer has an S-video hookup but not the tv. Anything I can do?

Surely you can buy an S-Video to RCA (yellow video) cord here??

If not you can pick up a converter box at E-Mart (I think). That would involve you buying a yellow video cable to go from the box into your TV.

I picked up a new cord today. One end has the S-video wire and the input for the headphones jack, the other has the Red White Yellow wires. Plugged it in, messed around a bit in the Nvidia display options and finally got video to display on my tv. Problem is that when the video plays, it only plays on half the screen and the bottom half is displaying the same thing as the top half but it's flickering. Messed with it some more and got it to play in full screen by resizing it but it will only play in black and white. It's been 2 hours and I'm giving up for the day. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

From what I understand you will need to buy a converter box. I saw one in Coex for 93,000 won. It has a VGA input and an RCA output and allows you to switch display modes for different screens. Something about TVs not being able to handle the resolution of computers unless it's HD. I'm in the same boat as you and have gone through trial and error as well. Will pick up a box after payday and let you know!

I've also had issues trying to connect my Packard Bell Laptop to our tv - we get perfect sound on our tv but no picture! We tried changing the resolution, but it didn't help. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

i am having the same difficulty to those mentioned above. I can connect my laptop to my tv but the picture is extremely fuzzy and from what i can tell, the tv will only show my desktop, not any applications (VLC, browser, iTunes etc.) i have tried both extending my desktop and cloning it. i have also adjusted the refresh rate thinking that it was a problem with the resolution. All to no avail. tv is not that old, a Samsung ct-21m20 (unfortunately with remot only in Korean so that doesnt help) and i believe only AVI1 no AVI2. any help is appreciated
