it's funny how a couple of goofballs on comedy central of all channels are more in-your-face in American politics than most of the mainstream media. i can imagine both stewart and colbert going network in the future

You obviously have never heard of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, or pretty well anyone on Fox News. They make Jon Stewart look mild-mannered.

yeah, you're right racetraitor. i guess i meant from the standpoint of the left-center. and i honestly believe both colbert and stewart are reasonably moderate.

those guys are so far right it's ridiculous. and besides, that's what colbert is all about anyway - pretending to be worse than o'reilly.

Like the rest of Fox news, all O'Reilly is capable of is unbased fear mongering, or just plain mongering. Everytime I watch an interview with him I feel like vomitting.

The illogical way he belittles and tortures his guests if they disagree with him is absurd. I remember watching Out Foxed, the documentary on Robert Murdoch and his corporation, and they were counting the number of times he called one of his interviewees an idiot (or the equivalent of), and I think they tallied it to something like once every eight seconds.

He is part of the reason people hate mainstream Republicans so much. They have no logical credentials, and nearly everything they say screams of stupidity and fallacy, yet if you question them or confront them in any way they will do your absolute best to squash you (I guess they call it "smear campaigns" these days).

The only good interview O'Reilly had that I saw was the one with Richard Dawkins. You can tell that he was furious underneath and wanted to tell Dawkins he was an idiot from the second the interview started, but he couldn't manage to be on the offensive because he knew that someone like Dawkins couldn't stand for it / could squash him intellectually.

O'Reilly is a coward and an idiot.
