				| What's the procedure for early release from an apartment lease contract? I secured housing on my own in Seoul, am 4 months into a 1-year contract, with a small key money deposit. (Not a huge apartment building, just your average residence.)
Would I have to find somebody to take over my lease? Also, what happens to the key money? In the case that I don't find anybody, am I liable for the months rent remaining? I'm possibly moving to a different area because of a job... if you know, please give me a shout, thanks!

				| It is a case-by-case basis. If you find someone to take over your contract, or to sign a new contract, your landlord may be willing to let you out of it. Talk to your landlord or budongsan. | |

				| you'll get all of your key money back.
If you've been there a large portion of your lease, they may just let you leave. If it's an officetel, they can usually fil it up within 3 days.

				| There's alot of people in Korea looking for a place to live. I wouldn't sweat it. It probably won't take long for them to fill your apartment and give you your money back. | |

				| Thanks for the replies, just wanted some heads-up before I talked with the landlord. So in essence, I should be able to get out of the contract 5 months into the year.. | |
