Ah! It's not as bad as that. Just don't ask ridiculous prices. I only attack when I find the asking price is similar or sometimes MORE than what is asked for on danawa or gmarket.
Honestly a lot of the watchdogs are here to help out the uninformed people who might be taken advantage of and overpay for an offered product.
For example, because I have tech knowledge, I've had fellow teachers offer me $700 for my old computer, but I never had the heart to rip them off. Here they'd be eaten by the wolves!
I've even gotten to the point of posting the danawa link when someone posts a..., "I'm just feeling around...I don't really wanna sell, but make me an offer.." post. Just doing my service to the community. |

Yeah - we're not talking about prices. I've been known to bump ads for sellers on account of it looking like a good deal as much as I've called some people on the price of what they were selling.
I think that generally people get a fair deal here.
The problem is, like I recently experienced...
I responded to an ad for a car. Offered via pm to pay the guy FULL PRICE. Tell him that I'll be going down to daejeon to look at it the following Sunday. All was agreed - except the seller stood me up on Sunday and then sent me a PM saying that the car was sold. I kind of guessed that he had sold it to a friend (he should have asked friends BEFORE placing the ad) - this turned out to be true because a little while later the car was back on dave's because the deal with his friend fell through.
Karma.
If you're going to put up an ad on dave's, you'd better be willing to sell the item to the first person who wants to give you your asking price. No exceptions! Anything else is dishonest and a misuse of the board. |

THIS!!
if people didn't sell stuff for retarded prices, they wouldn't be assaulted by people telling them the price is high.
look at the topics where the prices are reasonable ... there are no trolls and the items sell fast. |

For the record I will clarify you:
Yes you did say you were interested in the car. Yes I did tell you to come see it. BUT, you did not confirm with me when you would be coming! And my reason for accepting offers is because I had to drive it to work until October 25 ( as I stated in the original ad ).
Between the time you contacted me someone I knew was interested. This is why it became sold. Now it's on the market again. The price is negotiable...this is not a case of making money. I paid 1,200,000 won for it this year...and selling for $950.00 OBO...meaning negotiable.
I also PM'd you when it became available again so you could have a chance to get it. And I offered to help you transfer the registration, etc.

maybe i'm just too old school, but when i was using mostly newsgroups instead of web forums, the standard rule was if you were going to sell something, use FS (For Sale) in your title, or if you were trying to auction something off, use FA (For Auction).
i don't think there's anything wrong per se with auctioning off something here, i just wish people would be more up front about it so i can just skip those posts since i have no interest in getting into a bidding war.
i know there aren't many auction posts in this forum, it's just feels like there has been more of such posting lately and it's starting to be somewhat annoying. |

Actually, you initially agreed - I'm sure I was quite clear that I'd be coming that Sunday. There were no maybes or probablys in my pm... and then you didn't respond to text messages, pms, or, finally calls.

Yes, you did.
Mostly, I complain about this because I was the model buyer. I wanted it as soon as you were willing to let it go for as much money as you were asking. I had the cash in hand, so to speak. But because of your clumsiness, I was left frustrated. If you had treatd me right, your car would have been sold by now. |

I am not going to stop calling out people selling goods I know about, used, at or above US msrp. That's the only time I'll call someone out.
Especially if it's something I'd buy.
I'd also like to see a FS or FA thinger on here. |
