after all (well, according to one researcher at least). Who would have thought?
Researcher: Vibrations help slim abdomen
Quote: |
PORTLAND, Maine - A Maine researcher says standing on a vibrating platform for 15 minutes a day could help people achieve washboard abs.
Clifford Rosen from The Jackson Laboratory and Maine Medical Center Research Institute says his study put mice on a vibrating platform for 15 minutes a day for 15 weeks.
He says the mice developed 27 percent fewer abdominal fat cells and saw other benefits, including reduced triglycerides in the liver.
The mice didn't lose weight but Rosen says it appears that the vibrations changed fat distribution in a beneficial way. The study by Rosen and his research partners was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

That would have been fun to watch. I wonder if he gave them little t.vs to watch while they were on it. |

So you are now going to give the regular sun-visored ajummas a nod of tacit approval as you see them whittling the fat away from their bellies on these contraptions. |

I hope you mean using the machines, not watching the users. |

So where'd the fat go? Their asses or their thighs? |

I was wondering the same. What's the use of washboard abs when you're now pear-shaped. |

Given the general lack of curves on Korean women, I'd say either option is welcome. |

"According to one researcher" should be the operative part of your post. Folks, research can say ANYTHING if you cook the numbers enough. I'm still amazed that one study comes out and all of a sudden everyone's touting it as true. Hell, even the research doesn't say it actually helps you... only moves the fat around. Wow! Now I'm just as fat, but in different ways! |

Broken down, removed, excreted.
Massage has the same effect, apparently. It's measured by testing the blood for some particular thing, not sure what. |

nothing is sexier than a mouse with hard abs.
Soon, they'll develop the machine for women in a way such that using it will redistribute fat to breastusses. |

Depending on the shorts you're wearing, the machines work very well to give you an erection. I learned this the hard way. Maybe I had the strap in the wrong place. On the bright side, the erection made my gut look slimmer. |
