I go in Alberta to a UK import place to buy teas and other stuff. Tinned food and stuff (choclate bars are wicked for some reason. Anyway tea--I've tried a few Hertfordshire is good and strong --Q-tips not sure if thats the name but it's shaped like a triangle. Theres also the most expensive from "Taylors of Harrogate" but sometimes you get what you pay for,

Is Irish tea good? teat ia tea in a way I guess but how about some advice---I can request the stuff if they don't have it. I went through a green tea phase but ---- that noise give good old black tea. India has tea but

England is the home of tea to quote the movie Lock Stock...

England--you know -the quenn bad food never pick up a check cuppa tea-England.Ha

Taylors of Harrogate is the tea of choice! fantastic tea as PG tips, Tetleys etc have all gone downhill in recent times. You can't get a decent cuppa outside the 'Yorkshire tea' brand. (Which is Taylors of Harrogate)

Thanks man--Yorkshire is the one I was thinking of. Hertfordshire is corned beef,...

The Taylors is a tenner for 50 but thats not too bad. 2 cups per bag is 25 cents a cup.

Kind I have is "smoke" flavored and excellent.

Haven't had Taylors but I do like a cup of PG Tips, Nambarrie (Irish) or Punjana. Anything but Tetleys.....worst tea in Britain, IMO.

Ah PG pyramids! The tea of kings and others.

The best tea is the organic fairtrade stuff, Clipper etc. BUt as it's nay on impossible to get it here. Just ignore me.

Um, tea is about as English as curry...

Rule of thumb: anything in a teabag is rubbish. All the generic black tea brands imported to western countries are low quality and always have been. Not to sound like too much of tea snob, but if you want real tea, go to a tea store and get some loose-leaf tea (there are many kinds). Even the cheapest of loose-leaf black teas is going to be better than Tetley et al. I recommend green tea, it's healthier and pretty much better in every way (if you like something a bit smokier, Chinese 'long jing' tea is nice).

I second the comment about loose tea, but if you want a bagged tea, PG Tips is fine as standard refreshment/hangover cure, and Twinings Earl Grey at other times.

i like the english/irish (is there a difference?) breakfast tea. i know you can get ahmad's english breakfast off gmarket and some shops selling imported goods. seeing as i don't have the room for a coffee-maker, the stuff is preferable to instant coffee.

Was reading a story about the Brits exporting everything. Tea to I ndia (and curry) chocolate to Belgium and whiskey to Ireland. And I guess ice to the eskimos.

The point is nothing is really Brit---except ducking out on the tab and obseessing about the footei. Thet steal everything.
