Been thinking about it. What I'm interested in now is why the OP is so scarce and absent from this thread she started after the checks have been cashed and after several, including you, have asked for updates. I think you're curious, too.

Absolutely. Good idea.
Especially, be sure to read the "About Us" page.
What I'm noticing - Karen, Chaitanya, Annie, Piotr, Mark - none of these people have last names. They have no office, no mailing address, no physical place in the world where I can walk up to them, look 'em in the eye, and shake their hand. At least, none of this info is included on their site.
Ah, but they WILL accept my money - happy to oblige in THAT area.
And still no sign of annie or shannonnation on this thread she started ...
Until she comes around, I've taken some good advice and startedc a different discussion.

Hi everyone,
First of all, I want to apologize for being so absent. But thanks for giving my thread a bump!
See, for the month of October, I used to receive more than 20 emails a dayI didnt have a minute to myself, answering people, taking them to the shelter (sometimes even 3 times a week!), taking pictures, and updating the info about the animals.
Plus, the thread got corrupted a few times, and I wasnt sure it was worth giving it so much energy and time. Well, I guess I have now decided that it was!
Nevertheless, once the city council gave us an extension, I took a tiny break. I had gotten sick and needed the break.
Anyway, not here to go on and on about my life.
I agree with The Bobster that it could be suspicious to people that I ask people to directly give me money. We rectified the situation by asking people to donate directly to the vet instead (where most of the money goes anyway). We will even get the 6 intact males sterilized this week to make sure they dont add to the problem.
Also in response to The Bobster: No, I don't give my personal address on a public forum or site over the Internet. I believe my phone number is enough! If you want to call me and set and appointment to walk up to me, look me in the eye, and shake my hand, I'll be more than happy to do so. I'm in Daejeon, surrounded with great mountains; we can even go have a walk in the mountains with my foster dog who will be more than happy to do so, too. I understand your concern. But I do exist and have many people who can prove so (some even came to my home to pick up animals)
So here is the latest update:
We got an extension until February 28th. We got between 55-60 dogs out, but still need to get 153.
Dont give up on these poor babies! We still need homes and money, but you can also come and walk or play with the dogs. Plus, the shelter is now in great need of beds and blankets as the metal and concrete are getting really cold!
PM me for more info |

Glad to have you back, and thank you for the courtesy contained in your response. I am pleased that you appear to have interpreted my reservations as only that, simply that people really DO need to be sure that money they send out in the world to do good things actually ends up where they want it. Your ultimate course is a sane one, and I'm hearted that your response reflects what I had said several times, that I personally believed you were real and sincere and not any kind of scam.
Here's hoping your efforts result in several hundred dogs living out their lives healthy and well-loved. Cheers. |

| I've heard about this for a long time. When is it going to happen. I have a preference for Su-Yook. Will the chef be able to make Su-Yook. If not maybe we'll just put them all into a big pot and have a Poshintang party. |

Hi Everyone!
yep, around 130 dogs left.
About the size, no, there are not only big dogs. There are around 10 jindos, but the other ones are all quite small with a few medium ones.
We hope the city hall kind of forgot about us, but technically we only have a month left....
Please, keep spreading the word!
Thanks |

Here's that website again: http://www.lonelylifetime.com/donations
And it's been updated to this: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/
Perhaps the Seoul Vegetarian club "potluck" event that "kermo" has scheduled for February 16 can help raise some funds for the shelter.
I have to run this idea by the club President ("kermo") but since it's free (and I'm usually the only one that spends much on the stuff I bring) people can be encouraged to donate like 10,000 won for dinner (or whatever they can afford to give for animal rescue ...)
Here's the link to the current seoul veggie club thread:
