Call me ignorant, but what is trolling? I had a post on here and was accused of trolling. Then, a few hours later, the post was removed. Not sure what I did wrong, but apparently something. |

Don't worry about it. If you can't figure out what you did wrong, then it's the mods' problem. They can't even tell you what you did wrong?? wtf... |

Trolling means writing something that is speculation that stirs up emotions that supposedly makes people angry........kinda' like a rumor-monger. Usually that kind of name is meant for people who are regular members who take on another identity so people don't know who they are (kinda' like being more anonymous than who they usually are....)
So if someone calls you a "troll", they mean that they don't believe that you are actually a new member, and only think you are just a member masquerading as a new member.
Another name is "sock", which is supposed to be more rude.....
Don't feel bad, I was called a NED sometime last week, whatever the hell that means........ |

Op, a good question. Literally only a few days ago, I almost started a virtually identical thread as I thought I knew what trolling was but I wasn't certain. Finally, as I thought I was perhaps the only one who didn't know, I decided to ask a mod by Private Message instead of risking embarrassment on this board.
I also didn't know how to download an image into a thread until yesterday. Thanks to the user who gave me the info. Sometimes knowledge of how to do everything on here is taken for granted so it is good that questions such as Kitten's are asked once in a while. |

This is a troll. This sock-puppet troll is indigenous to the low-laying areas of southeastern
Louisiana along the Mississippi River.

Trolling: posting an opinion, thought or question (intentionally, presumably with malice) that goes against the grain or status quo of accepted opinion(s) on a particular internet message-board/forum so as to light a fire up somebody's butt... or everyone's butt.
This is true, however, the right to accuse someone of trolling is sometimes abused in itself as it can potentially be powerful enough to suppress a legitimate, justifiable post at a discount. Basically, a cheap-shot. |
