How Do Koreans Treat Your Filipina/Thai Wife? Do they make friends with Korean women? Do they encounter any problems when they go to the market etc??? Do they like Korea/Koreans? |

No problems as such.
Get a few odd stares around town at us but most people speak to her in Korean and are a bit shocked when she doesn't speak back or speaks English to them.
She hasn't got any friends as such but she does have a few people that speak to her.
Only person who has ever been rude to her was a hat seller in Itaewon who said something nasty when she decided she didn't like the hat she was looking at.
Mod Edit: Removed swear filter dodge. Let that be the last one. |

Will ditto that for my Indonesian wife, but having a baby in tow often makes you a candidate for special treatment here. |

Guess I am the odd ball!
My girl HATES it here and Does not Like Koreans In the least!
I DO have Korean friends and speak .......ummm decent Korean and didn't really have issues till I brought her here.
My Thai girl only! has other expat friends. We had a lot of trouble here! I think in the last month alone five issues! Come to think of it though it's been mostly them thinking she was a HOT Korean going out with a Waygookin
1. Drunk Korean spit on her..............mostly cuz she was with whitey ...might have thought she was Korean... This got bad my first fight in Korea ever!
2. Was told that they wouldn't serve her in a club..............she's a bit hot tempered so after mocking the bartender and throwing peanuts at her she got a beer!
3. Sitting hanging out with my friends and me/her playing around and some Korean guys walking by got pissed threw a fit!! My Korean friends had to hold them back! Cuz they believed I was disrespecting a Korean girl! Korean friends explain she wasn't Korean and they walked away?
4. At a bar and some drunk Korean guys started yelling at her calling her a ton of name ...............but again cuz of me I think...........then the bar owner asked us to leave. I did however make a scene after they started calling her names.
5. At a dance club a Korean guy finds out she is Thai and assumes she is for sale...............came up and got physical...........I got into a lot of trouble that night.
Anyway just my XP can't say for anyone else. |

Your enviroment doesn't sound all that healthy. Try becoming active w/ your local church or some sort of civic org. |

Classic Korean mentality. The Koreans cause the trouble while you mind your own business and you are asked to leave.
Good thing you didn't call the police, they would've taken you to jail for minding your own business.
I have a Korean girlfriend, we are coming up on our 1 year anniversary. I have yet to witness anyone disrespecting me or her. No bad words, no fights, no spit, nothing. And we go out in Seoul and other cities and aren't shy about our relationship. It's common that we hold hands or have arms around each other. The most I've seen are some evil eyes.
What sets of the Koreans about seeing locals with foreigners? Apparently, I haven't done whatever it is. |

Wouldn't a church be the worst place to go looking for approval? |

I have the same experience; a few looks, but never any physical or verbal hostility.
This seems to be common; some people have problems all the time, others don't.
It seems to me that it depends on what kind of person you (the white male) are.
If you dress, look and act like the sterotypical ESL bum, then people won't like you.
If you dress, look and act like a respectable person, then people will like you.
Personally, when I see some white guy who looks like a bum with a nice looking Korean girl, I look at them and think 'what the f--K is she doing with him?'
In a lot of cases, I think the hostility isn't only due to race, more the kind of person you appear to be. |

Actually he lives in Busan, and what he's experienced is why I'm wary about bringing my Thai g/f over. |

Regardless, church is the worst place to go. |

Perhaps you youngsters aren't getting Spliff's humor ( and maybe I'm not either!), but I believe he's sort of quoting Frank Zappa on his "Joe's Garage" album (the advice given the main character by a friendly police officer, who, of course, gives the boy a donut before dispensing the advice.) |

Sorry, but those comments reak of insecurity.
What the hell do you care?
I say good good on em. Of course I'm happy in my own relationship and I suspect your single and likely bitter as a result.
If I'm wrong, then well, I'm wrong, But still, really why would you let something like that get to you? |
