Attic of the US. he he. I am going to use that sometime.

One of my canadian friend's described it as the attic of the US.

It's like me saying that L.A. is the armpit of the US, and Detroit is the A-hole. Anyway, re-reading my original post- I think that newbie's and unhappy old-bies should just lighten up. Living in Korea is the same as living anywhere. Really. Be yourself. Be a nice guy.

Sometimes, I have a hard time here because I get bored. But then I think; "hey, when I was back home, there were times when I was bored too." same-same.

You can't run away from your problems back home-they follow you everywhere. Adapt, adjust. It's a must.

The whole quotation is something like: "Living in Canada is like living in the attic of a house where there's a big party going on downstairs, and you're not invited." I think it was Mordecai Richeler who wrote it.

i'm not sure that was called for.

Joe? Laughing

There wasn't anything about PGF's post that called for it. I'm certain.

However, let us examine his spelling of "America". Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a spelling-nazi... but it is a noun that BILLIONS of people around this planet know how to spell and NightSky did put it in boldface type to draw specific attention to it.

If I am mistaken and this is some kind of joke with an obscure reference then I will retract my statement.

i don't know what you're talking about. i'm just saying that 'NightSky' was a little harsh calling the op an idiot.

Laughing sorry 'bout that. perhaps i should've left your quote out. i was just "seconding" your post.

"Joe?" was for Nightsky's benefit.

I think he was referring to the repeated use of "Canadia" with an "i".

yeah, but that's a pretty common little joke, isn't it? as sensitive as most of the canadians i've met have tended to be about their country, i've never met any that were offended by someone saying 'canadia'.

at any rate, i think i've exhausted my own usefulness in this thread.

LMAO. You are in fact correct.

NightSky, I owe you an apology and drinks are on me. I retract my statement in full. What a gaff. Embarassed

However, I will console myself by declaring myself being man enough to admit I was wrong. I wasn't familiar with the "Canadia" ribbing but should have caught it nevertheless.

"Idiot" is not a pronoun.

Absolutely! Life is...life. And it can take some time before one is truly comfortable in a new place, but if you're comfortable in your own skin, the transition will be much faster.

Cheers to the OP for having such a great attitude about this!

Another F-2. I liked the way violence was a major component of the narrative.
