|
|
I've seen a post about this before, but I couldn't find it using the search.
I had great free wireless during open window season, but now it is clearly too cold for me to have my window open all the time. Any advice on how I can make some sort of makeshift antenna to stick out my window? (Keeping in mind that I am pretty much useless when it comes to technology.)
Thanks! |

That's easy.
Just purchase a wireless USB antenna for about 20,000 to 30,000 won. It usually comes with some software, too. These can be used on a desktop computer, or even a notebook, if there is no wifi. They will also work even if your notebook already has wireless. You just set up another 2nd wireless connection.
They look like this, and can be purchased at about any computer store. This model happens to come with a plastic base to hold it up, but will work just by plugging into USB without the base:
Here's another model by Buffalo, which you could just buy a USB extension cord for:

You could just hang the thing out your window, and plug it into your computer. Close the window on the wire, and you're all set.
If you are anywhere near COEX, I know the Link-o store also sells them.
Zio is a good cheap brand. |

I have one of those USB modems. It's for sale if you want. If you want to simple enhance the signal of your current USB antenna, it will need to be an external one. Try putting it in a metal bowl to reflect the incoming signal onto the antenna. Otherwise just shell out for a router. |

He means use bbc code (forum code, if you will) to make a word the link, rather than showing the whole url when it's super long. The long url "breaks" the page. (You have to scroll sideways) |

Now if I use BBcode I can make it a short link
short link #1 and then another short link
it's real easy on the lower left of your compose box click the BBCode link and you'll get examples
Code: |
[url=http://www.enuri.com/search/Searchlist.jsp?searchkind=1&page=1&key=POPULAR+DESC&pagesize=50&factory=&nosale=OFF&chk_modelno=&cmd=imglist&sMinPrice=0&sMaxPrice=0&shopcode=0&shop_code=&from=search&first_search=NO&orgkeyword=usb+wifi&logkeyword=usb+wifi&in_keyword=&cate=00000000&cate_name=&redirect_flag=&search_gubun=&minprice=0&field_set=&detailkeyword=&modelno=0&price_gubun=detail&bFactoryBtnClick=false&m_price=&pre_price=&minpricesearch=0&maxpricesearch=1920000&minpricesearch_ex=&maxpricesearch_ex=&prevSearch=&cate_keyword=Y&layerfactory=&layerprice=&layershop=&c=enuri&keyword=usb+wifi]short link #1[/url] and then another [url=http://www.joyzen.co.kr/product/sInfo.html?fid=13&uid=119&Pnum=26909&optsid=ENR]short link[/url] |
