FYI, I spent 1 month in Cam, 1 month Viet, 2 weeks in Lao last winter. Feel free to ask away - I'll even show you the beach where I'm retiring to in 3 years!

ah yes, hoi an was nice. nice deserted beach.

i would be inclinded to go back if it weren't in the middle of the country. beautiful little town.

i'm actually contemplating going to mui ne for a few days this winter cause i never got a chance to spend time there during my last trip. from what i could tell wjen the bus stopped there for lunch, it seemed like what i ws looking for.

I'm planning to do the Bangkok loop. Thai-Cambodia-Vietnam-Laos-Thai
Things are very tentative. I expect to do this in January, maybe spilling into February. I may be returning to work in Korea but I may be taking a job in Saigon.

Really, I don't know what's going on. I hope I know better by the end of the month.

Once I get my camp job set up I'll update you all on potential dates for the trip. For now I'll gather info about what to see, where to stay, etc.....

Well, now that I've lined up a camp it's time to set the dates for a trip--I'm available any time after Lunar New Year(prices should go back down) until the last week of February(have to be back for a faculty meeting/visa renewal). When do any of you want to go?

we were thinking of leaving the day of Lunar New Years (flew out to the US that day this year no problems with crowds) and coming back around Feb 15 or so as we are hopefully moving up to Seoul for the new academic year and may have to go on a visa run.

If anybody has suggestions on good beaches with decent accomadtions please let us know. For us our flight has to be on a Star Alliance carrier as we have enough ff miles for a free trip
