I'm just wondering what percentage of people here actually eat at their school cafeteria? Do you think it is important in the whole bonding Jung thing? Personally I don't. I have in the past. I like Korean food but I don't think it translates well into cafe style food. I do however go out to dinner with my school regularly. |

I don't. I do try to partake in the little snacks we get in the office from time to time and go out ot dinner when I'm asked to make up for my Jung deficit. Personally, I feel like the ycan't relate to me anyway, and eating mass-produced korean food isn't goign to help that. |

Public school and the lunch is usually crap. I brown bag it.
Additionally, the home room teachers eat in their classrooms with their students so the only people eating in the cafeteria are the admin staff and a few teachers who do NOT have home rooms (like the music, PE, and the K-English teacher.)
I do like to go out with my co-workers when we have staff dinners, etc. |

I do 2-3 times a week. The other 2 or 3 days when my schedule permits me I skip across the street to lotteria or subway or to a mall's food court. I actually think my public school's food isn't that bad, I just also like being able to get out of the school for an hour or so when I can. |

The lunch break is my time to get some peace and quiet. It's like a little oasis of calm amongst a sea of noise pollution. I know my Korean colleagues think I'm anti-social, but I know I do a much better job if I've had a chance to re-charge my batteries during the lunch break.
I was reading this article the other day that said Korean language/thought makes no distinction between "individual" and "selfish". .. ah ,well - I can live with that. |

You might find yourself paying the full price for all school lunches. Without a discount for days missed . Despite your tendency to sometimes opt for the Wellbeing Burger |

Everyday but I sit on my own and ignore everybody.
Somedays I just eat rice since it's often pure shiite that they serve. I'm f.cked if the nutritionist at school is doing her job.
Rice, potatos with cheese and white gunk, kimchi and small horrible dried fish and water with bean-sprouts does to constitute lunch to me.
I have jung or whatever it's called but I also regard most of the food as inedible.
It is free though. |

NO WAY. The food is terrible and the cooks can't make a decent combination to save their lives. I think yesterday was corn dog with kimchi chigae and some kind of buckwheat noodle |

On the first day at school, I ate at the school cafeteria. I hated the food and from then on, I've brought in my own packed lunch everyday.
Many Koreans I've spoke to at school marvel at the fact 'I make my own lunch everyday'.
I explain to them I don't make it, I just open a can of tuna, butter my cobs and put the tuna inside.
I also bring a can of pineapple juice, with some grapes and cookies.
I am confident I would be in intensive care by now, if I had tried to eat Korean food on a regular basis.
I also like time to myself whenever I can get it. Bonding with myself is my main concern during working hours. |

I eat in the cafeteria every day, actually two different cafeterias since I work at two schools.
The food is quite good at both.
My only issue are the seaweed dishes like 미역국 which I can't seem to develop a taste for and I grew up in a place where eating nasty ocean weeds is quite common. |

There is no such thing as a free lunch, except in korea! How could I say no?
I eat with my students, though. At least they make an attempt to speak english. I got tired of korean teachers talking in korean about me infront of my face as if I couldn't recognize MY OWN NAME!!! |

Ridicules...don't understand why some posters could be bothered inserting Korean into their texts as if we care enough to click on a translation site. |
