Anytime i go through immigration in Canada or the US, I always try to get in line with a guy. Female immigration officers in Canada are absolute bi@tches... |

There is a written law about F-4 Visa holders but immigration doesn't have them.
Ask a law office and they know.
The demarcation of work responsibilities in Korea is very sharp.
These immigration officials can obtain their jobs without going to college, but must past a nationwide test.
It's like asking a police officer for legal advice.
or a DMV official to resolve a traffic dispute
The immigration officials are there only to process immigration applications and making sure all the t's are crossed and i's are dotted. |

I had a bad experience with immi a couple years ago when they refused to extend my F2 visa for a further 2 year period...I found this a little insulting and wrote a letter to the Ministry of Justice (in English) complaining about it. A few weeks later an immigration official called my wife and apologized. |
Yeah, my wife pulls that crap on anyone working in the public/private sector who is rude to her. She generally writes her complaints on the oranization's website, naming the person responsible. It always gets results. Had other Koreans say you shouldn't do this, as you may cost someone their job. If that's the case, said someone shouldn't be a douche in the first place. |

Always makes me feel good to be reminded why I didn't marry a woman from back home. |

Immigration people are a-holes the world-over. Sometimes, they have to be. Sometimes.... |
That's not true! Go to Dubai, or Oman. They were super friendly towards me! I've been in and out of many countries. But in the Middle East, Immigration is wonderful!!! They always smile, chit chat and say, "Welcome to...!" They even gave me their cell phone numbers just incase I need any help or run into any troubles. They all spoke English fluently and most of them smile too. |
You are just so off. Among frequent business travelers the UAE and middle east are among the worst (African states are cited as typically being the worst). When I was in Dubai on business I had a Romanian handler who, when I complained about how disgusting the ninja had treated me at the passport control, said that every one of the men/women that she helps to the hotel says the same thing.
I've been to 30-35 nations in the past 3.5 years. Dubai was by far the worst. Cambodia is quite bad too. Korea was just hand-stamp-hand-walk, no problem. The Canadians tend to suck. I've been to so many muslim nations that I always get the "special" treatment when flying into America. But the middle east as kind, or them giving your their phone number at passport control. Camon. You've converted, haven't you? |

Sorry for offending. But, just try to notice their tone of voice when processing anyone. The guys are just plain nicer, most of the time. |

Canadian Immigration was hell in Vancouver. I am Canadian and the woman there was the rudest nastiest cow I ever met. I was clear about everything but she was insane. Korean immigration has always been very nice to me. |
Nicest Immigration experience was, surprisingly, in France. Going through CDG the immi officer took my passport, stamped it, and handed it back to me. 15 seconds. I'm standig there waiting for some immi-type questions, and he just says "Please move on, you're holding up the line".

when I asked for his name, he scribbled something incomprehensible on a piece of paper and gave it to me- when I said I couldn't read it and I needed something to identify him like number so I could write my senator and complain, he closed his window.
POS fat bast5ard. |
If he's as big as you say he is, it would be pretty easy to identify him in your complaint letter. There can't be too many like him manning the windows. |
