|
|
Recently I went to yongsan to have my computer fixed. After it was fixed, the repairman started cleaning out the inside of my computer, since it was a little dusty. While he was cleaning, he took out the CD Rom to clean it out.
When I got back home, everything worked fine, but now my CD Rom isn't working! The disc drawer opens normally, but once I put in a CD, nothing happens. I looked inside, and everything seems to be connected properly, so I'm not sure where the problem is.
I don't want to drag my computer back to yongsan for what I'm sure is a really simple fix. Anyone have any advice? |

I think we need more details to give you any advice. We know: Your CD-rom doesn't work but nothing is apparently wrong.
Umm... it's broken? |

It has power (opens and closes) but does not respond to computer commands (can't read CDs).
Is the IDE ribbon cable (the wide gray one) properly connected? The red strip on the side of the cable should be on the side closest to the power plug. Also make sure it is also plugged firmly into the mainboard. |
