Based on the article below, if you talked on a cellphone in England in the future, you won't qualify for an E2 in Korea...now thats irony!

UK: Jail Time Proposed for Cell Phone Users
Using a cell phone behind the wheel could carry massive fines and up to two years in jail.

The head of the UK Crown Prosecution Service, Ken Macdonald, is floating the idea of throwing motorists who use cell phones in jail. The idea would be to apply the charge of "dangerous driving" to anyone talking on the phone behind the wheel because it carries large fines and up to two years in jail. The current penalty is just �30 (US $5 or up to �1000 (US $1950) if the motorist attempts to defend himself in court.

"Talking on your mobile phone and applying make-up while driving are just a couple of examples of bad driving currently regarded as careless driving, for which culprits cannot be jailed," Kate Brown, the top prosecutor in Dorset told the Dorset Echo newspaper. "We are seeking the public's views as to whether these types of bad driving should be considered as dangerous driving, which would mean that offenders could face two years in jail or 14 years to life if their bad driving resulted in a fatality."

A recent public opinion survey revealed about a third of drivers in South West England ignored the existing ban on the use of cell phones behind the wheel. The same opinion survey showed three-quarters of the public does not want any more speed cameras.

I even make videos of the roads from behind the wheel. One eye on the menu screen and another on the traffic. I can't see what all fuss is about.

I would say that it should be legal for people to speak on their cell phones while they drive because I believe in Darwinism, but the sad truth is that those asstards who refuse to pull over to talk on the phone are more likely going to smash into someone who is not talking on their cell phone and hence less likely to deserve being scooped out of the gene pool.

It's also illegal to talk on your cell while driving in Korea (and any number of US states and all military bases...) Pretty sure you're not gonna get jail time in Korea, though.

In the US there was a big push to criminalize, uh, radios, in cars. This was some years ago, of course, but everyone was convinced that radios would lead to massive numbers of accidents. Guess they were wrong...

And do you know what the single biggest thing that adds to the number of accidents is????????????????? I read these in insurance company statistics about 8 or 10 years ago....it's having children in the car with you.

There is a simple solution to all of this:

Follow the law, and don't talk on your phone while driving, or get some device that allows for hands-free conversation.

Many, many accidents have been caused by idiots yabbering away on their phones. I'm not British, but if it keeps people from using their phones while driving, then it's a good idea.

The UK is very close now to being a total Orwellian style police state. They have 4.2 million 'security' cameras with the average person caught 300 times A DAY by different cameras. Hell they even have 'Free Speech Zones' where it's ok to talk just so long as you don't disagree with the government too much or commit a 'hate' (read thought) crime.

Yes talking on a cellphone whilst driving is stupid but 2 years? Ridiculous.
