Hello everyone,
I'm going to move to Seoul in February and need to find a place to live for one year. Now I live and study in Daegu but next year I want to attend Yonsei University as an exchange student.
In Daegu I pay 2 million won for 10 months (사글세) which means 200,000 / month (주택). No key money and no furniture.
I've looked through several estate agencies located near Yonsei but even the cheapest place was something like 350,000 a month. I know it won't be possible to live for the same money as I do here in Daegu, yet I would be happy finding a place for a price at least less then 300,000 won.
I have all the furniture I need so the best option would be just an empty room with a bathroom.
Taking the underground is OK as long as it costs around 1000 won and doesn't take more than 1 hour to get to Sinchon station. Attractions in the neighbourhood (bars, clubs etc.) are not important. I simply want a quiet place to sleep.
The problem is that I don't have enough time to go and check all the agencies in different districts. I would be very thankful if you recommended me places, estate agents or people who I could contact for specific information. |

For a small, small studio in central Seoul, expect to pay 2 million deposit AFTER you negotiate down from 10 million and expect to pay 500,000. This is the low end. You can get into an officetel for around the same price or a little more and it will be bigger.
200,000 a month is a goshiwon price in Seoul. |
