I live in the Nowon area (by hagye and jungye stations) and am wondering if anybody knows of a good place where I can get my haircut where they speak english and cut good hair. I used to travel all the way to Itaewon just to get my haircut, but the lady hasnt been doing that good of job (practically shaved my head last time) and just isnt worth taking all the time to go all the way down there for it. I like to keep my hair short, unlike all the korean guys here, so it would be helpful if they know how to cut short hair and use clippers. Thanks a bunch!

I too, used to go to Iteawon until I found this place. There's a hairshop called Juno Hair in Junggye-dong. Many of the teachers from my school go there (guys and girls). If you get off at Eunhaeng-sa-gori it's down the street from Mc Donald's and in the same building as The Bagel Street Cafe, on the second floor. There's a guy there that understands a good amount of English and understands all of our hair salon terms. I think his name is 임청. His day off is on Wednesdays. Their number is 02-934-6650. Perhaps if you can't find the place, you could jump in a taxi, call the hairshop and let them tell the taxi driver where to go.

I went into a XEO hair not long ago. And while they didn't speak any English, I had a picture of me, and found a picture in one of their books, and just pointed. Worked fine. Haircut, shampoo and head massage for 15k. Not bad at all Smile

I go to any place near, point to my head and say "how much is it" in Korean, which I learned on the plane coming here 12 years ago, and get my hair cut for 5,000 won. Saves the travel cost to Itaewon and 10,000 won. By the way , they do shampoo my hair and give me a cup of coffee. The stylists are usually in their late twenties tops.

Kimbabworld,

Thanks for the recommendation! I know exactly where it is at. In fact I work right across the street from there and have seen it before, just never walked in because I didnt know if they spoke english or not. Good to know that they do though. Thanks again!
