Great,,, I know this sounds like a silly question. One of the Korean guys at the PX in CRC somehow was giving me this story how Korean WIFI wasn't compliant with for the new Iphones and Ipod touch.. I thought we was talking crazy until I attempted to connect at a local coffee shop off post and I was having a hard time connecting..

Yeah sounds crazy right??

OH well I am glad to get the confirmation

You won't be able to connect eveywhere. Just like notebook wifi, you'll need access to a free, open hotspot with decent signal strength. I can tell you from experience that you'll be able to see wifi hotspots all over the place, roughly half of them are password protected, and many have very poor signal strength. But, it just depends on where you are.

It's not that easy. Like the other person said, you've got to have a proprietary account most of the time, like NESPOT, to connect.

Lot's of services are unlocked. Most of the time the ipod searches out at least 2 accounts. At least one of fthose is unlocked.

connectivity is like 80% for me. About 80% of the places I go, I'll find a hotspot that my ipod touch can connect too. I wish the subways and buses had free internet hotspots.

Pretty much use my iPod Touch all day, everyday. Listening to music, calendars, email, games.....everything.

Today I stumbled across a link to Nespot for iPod Touch/PSP. A whopping 3,000won/month for nespot access for your iPod Touch. Access points aren't everywhere (13,000 in the country), but shit.....for 3,000won a month, you can't really go wrong if you are in a city!!! I signed up...took 3 minutes.

Edit: Phone number for English service - 02-520-7800

Seems like a lot of money to spend on something that is only made to last 1.5 years.

The 3,000won for the internet or the 400,000won for the iPod?? Wink

It is a lot of money for sure. But the I feel that everything that it provides for me makes it worth it. I just wish it were a phone.

Not sure about the 1.5 year lifespan?? Where's this from??
