suck so bad it's funny. When they're loosing I just pray for a blow out so we can see some sweeping changes... if only other teams didn't have the cap; we could unload 4 or 5 big contracts. |

Yeah wow, didn't those mighty mighty Bruins just end a six game skid? If the playoffs were tomorrow, the B's would be on the golf course with the Laffs.

I feel really really sorry for all those leaf fans in Toronto. I always chuckle to myself when I see people in Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Red Deer, Regina and places like that wearing leaf caps. When I meet the odd Newfie and he is cheering for the leafs I cannot help but be a little patronizing. Poor bastard!! He doesn't even know they aren't even trying anymore.
Seriously though. I say trade the whole lot of em'. Then tar and feather Ferguson and any other excutives at Maple Leaf Sports. Let Sundin go to the Wings for a legitimate shot at the cup. Let Darcy Tucker go to a good team.
Keep Paul Maurice though. But he is the only one I would keep. Then maybe I would not be quite as bitter at being forced to watch the leafs lose every Saturday night.
Or CBC could show other games?? I guess all those poor sad pathetic Toronto fans would miss watching their beloved leafs crap the bed on Saturday nights. Can't have that now can we.
I did not even mention Raycroft, or Wellwood. |

Last night they threw 50 shots at the Flyers but lost 3-2. You ar e right the Den. Get picks for Tucker and Sundin while they have value--unload at least one overpaid defenceman and go for a free agent...
teams can turn it around quick as the Flyers did and the Oilers 2 years ago...Same old story though---withe place packed evey game and profits going up there is no urgency. (They are expected to clear over 100 mil next year. Unreal . )
Thats Canada--in Florida and other places you cab buy a beer and get a hockey ticket thrown in. Here in Edmonton I go to some games by myself (pairs are almost impossible get--ex. standing room if a bad team is in town and you buy early.) 100 bucks plus for a middle bowl type seat and 8 bucks a beer. It's fun to go but a couple hundred for this watered down stuff pisses me off. well thats supply and demand I guess. |

Yes, everything you said was true. 6 bucks for a watered down draft, 100.00Plus for a decent ticket and hockey games are a luxury I cannot afford. It is fun watching games in the states and you see all those empty seats. Makes me wish I was living down there sometimes. Last year when Annaheim was making their run they interviewed people off the street. Ron Maclean was blown away by how little they knew. I guess if I had their choice of entertainment I would not bother to watch the Ducks win the cup.
I do not think the brass in Toronto resect or care about the fans or the tradition or any of that. As you said they know the fans will tune in to see a sub par product so they do not care. Sad. |
