Does anyone know of any quality websites that have articles and questions I can download and print for a *hot topic* conversation class?

Articles. You might have to look around for something contentious.

Great link, Beaver. Exactly what I am looking for!!!! I need short articles because the class is only for an hour (well, 50 minutes, really!), so I can't discuss anything long and we can't spend too much time going through any language problems, either.

tzechuk (and others)

You might also try the N.Y. Times Snapshot. This is a great, teacher friendly lesson page. They take an article from that week's Times and there is also an additional question sheet/handout. Really topical stuff. Here is the archive and I really think this is a gem for a high intermediate or advanced class.

Darby does a great job with the new ESL World News.com Each week there is a nice printable .pdf . Great lady and email her thanks if you use.....

I also have several voicethreads on current events, not for lessons but self study. Students go there and comment on pictures of the current events of that week.

I really like (despite loathing Yahoo), their People of the web site. Kinda gossipy current events but students love talking about real people. Video, full screen, an article and questions. Well chosen stuff like this week's on resolutions....

All this might help somebody.......

STupid me! I forgot the most important link, the N.Y. Times snapshot...

Here is this week's (about Bhutto) and scroll under the photo for the archive.
