|
|
This thread will trace and celebrate Ron Paul's decling position and then his withdrawal from the presidential race 2008.
Tonight: Iowa. Ron Paul failed to receive significant support. Even Thompson outperformed him. On a side note, on the Democratic side, Michael Moore's man Kucinich has received zero support. This represents excellent news.
Stand by for New Hampshire's outcome.

Why is Kucinich a bad choice?
Don't know much about him but he seems like a straight talker from what I've seen.
Curious. |

G, I don't know if it is too late but maybe we can vote or pool on when Ron Paul's campaign will meet its end. Before 5 February( aka Super Tuesday) , on 5 or 6 February or after. My vote is on 5-6 Feb. Just thought I would suggest a way to make Paul's demise more interactive. |

Yeah, I've been out to Iowa a few times. Doubt you have. I can assure you there are no Israeli defense contractors there. In fact, I don't even know of any Israelis out there unless there in Ames, Ceder Falls of Iowa City going to School. But even in that case, I'd reckon that Koreans outnumber any Israeli in those towns by a large number. |

I wager Ron Paul will hang around until just after Super Tues. He has the money and not the actual support to do this. It will be a slow, lingering realization for him and his supporters. They will declare themselves "independent"; they will turn on the American election process with bitter accusations; then they will finally fade away and find themselves confined to Texas' 22d district...
Who are Ron Paul's supporters? People like Igotthisguitar. And he already alleges an Israeli -- that is, in his worldview, Jewish -- conspiracy against him... |

Yup, Gopher, it is true. Ron Paul won't win.
However, ol' Mike huckabee might. And that, more than anything, would be the death of America. And hell, let the people have what they want, I say.
So celebrate tonight. ding dong, Ron Paul's dead. But a man even dumber, more religious and more dangerous than even the dumb, religious and dangerous George Bush just snuck past.
I hope you are, as a Republican American who seems to be, at least on the surface, not one of those "London is the capital of Paris" Americans, embarrassed to be you, after Iowa. I would be. |

Ron Paul didn't fare that badly though. He has had pretty much ZERO recognition in the Republican Party, and he's not even on most polls as even an option.
However, despite that, he's not too far from Thompson and McCain's numbers.
I think only a very very few had any dreamy romantic images of him winning Iowa. Just having Ron Paul give a good as a show as he did, about 2/3rds of McCains votes is interesting in itself. |

I think you remain truly ignorant of the American political process. |

Really? So, you think ol' Mike, the good ol' boy, he stands no chance? Really? You can be that dismissive? I'm "ignorant". Ha, yeah!
Do you remember who was elected last time? Twice? Rudy is dead, Mitt is mormon and JM doesn't have a shot. That leaves the good ol' boy from Hope.
Yup. You must be feeling a tad embarrassed that the world is staring at their computer screens and slapping their heads in disbelief (my coworker said "You're fuc%ing kidding me") that so many people can be that gawddamed stupid, ignorant and dangerous. Now you're calling me "ignorant" about blah blah blah to save face. It is naked.

Great showing for Ron Paul in Iowa! After many denied he wouldn't, he made it into double digits AND received over THREE TIMES the votes of alleged frontrunner Rudolph Giuliani! He is sure to do better in NH.
If he can get enough pollwatchers, he can win.

Dude: decaf is in order. Switch to decaf and relax for a change. It will make your ignorance easier to bear. At least you will have that...And no, I do not believe that Huckabee, by making this showing in Iowa, has "snuck past" us and taken the Oval Office just yet.
Idiot. The primaries have barely begun. |

I'll return to this thread when Huckabee's campaign slows to a crawl in NH, SC, and NV, finally deflating on Super Tuesday.
Iowa is historically a poor predictor of who wins the GOP nomination. |
