It took me god knows how many attempts to register on this korean forum, who knows why. Now it is impossible for me to register on the international forums. I have tried now from about 4 different email addresses and to try again I will have to get myself a new email as you cannot use one you have already attempted to use. All I want to do is ask a few questions. Its not as if I have put my username as babykiller, I have even replied to the email asking for your adddress and telephone number. Why they want this is also beyond me!
So why are these forums so difficult to join, I must have joined hundreds and they all just require you to click a validating link on an email, thats it. I only want to ask a few questions dammit.

Just a warning-- once you do have an account, dooooooon't change the email address it's associated with. It'll automatically invalidate your account. |

I"ve become a little up to speed regarding social networking websites (if you may call this one!) and this is my take.
1) Simple incompetence and not caring. Enough said.
2. No need, necessity to bother with this "invention" and leads to point 1.
The site runs from the number of visitors, NOT the number that post. There are enough already posting so just let the others sit on the fence. No need, thus we get calculated incompetence and so on. A vicious circle.
Same goes for the search engine. Why bother having tags, having a search engine that might benefit teachers? Help students? UGH>....... no bother because not having one simply keeps people posting over and over and over and also keeps from having to have new people register.
I could go on at how crappy this place is (and also how necessary). No videos, embedding, no proper linkage, no personal page, no widgets, no instant messaging, no uploading , no prof. development and caring about teachers needs professionally (other than how can I get a job and who's going to advertise theirs). This site is a dinosaur but a nice dinosaur.

You think there's a problem with trolls, socks, spammers, DOS attacks, and vicious fighting now, you should have seen the place before it took so long to get approved.
Short of going to the dozen long-term troublemaker's homes and smashing their fingers into pulp with a hammer, which I approve of, this problem won't go away, and it will continue to take a while to get approved. |

Maybe it's extra important here since theoretically employers can view these forums, too? |

true, it's very hard to join any forum here....it may be that there are lots of ghostposters trying to register with false identities. Posting something that could cause a korean fraud to "lose face" might land the poster in jail. good luck |

but really is it any harder for a spammer to get on here? you just need a fake name and location, its not like dave is actually checking that anything is true. this site is definitely antiquated in a bad way. |

Recently it has been much harder for spammers. Hell, what am I saying? There's only one spammer.
Anyone have friends in Louisiana? twg has the right idea. |
