Vitamin B is good for your liver. Getting regular Hepatitis B shots is also good. Hepatitis B is rife in Korea. Its caused by mixing body fluids much more contagious and deadly than AIDS. Easily spead through sharing a similar pot exchanging soju glasses going down on a hooker.

That's just depraved. SOOOOO wrong. I have to go to the bathroom and throw up now.

Doc said I had a fatty enlarged liver. First she asked if I drank a lot of soju....

She asked how much you drank before giving a diagnosis?? I hate it when doctors do this *beep*.

Either your liver is fcuked or it isn't. Whether or not you drink soju has nothing to do with it.

Bull. Excessive drinking over a period of time is a very clear risk factor for liver damage (and various other ailments). You don't have to like it of course. I worked for a year as a standard patient training Korean doctors for the American medical exam. This was a standard background question that they were supposed to ask for anything even vaguely related. Knowing the risk factors can give them a better idea of where to direct any follow up tests to give the real diagnosis.

I cut out soju back in 2005, as it's no better than engine oil. I think the key thing is to drink in moderation.

How do you know your liver's enlarged? Do you feel different or something? Aches on the right side of your chest? What? I drink once a week only, but when I do, it's usually until I am waaaasted. Think my liver's shot?

Besides the risk of ruining the liver, there are plenty of other good reasons not to drink heavily. Too much heavy drinking can damage the brain, one of the most important assets a person has.

Think about it. Without a healthy brain, how could a person learn Korean or learn anything useful like Java Programming for that matter? Employers in America do not want to hire donkeys, they want to hire smart people. George Bush, over the course of 15 or 20 years, severely damaged his brain to the point where he can hardly make a coherent sentence. He could not possibly pass a high school test today. If that man did not have his father's connections and money, he would be on the streets eating out of a garbage can.

Now, for a common example of how alchohol can affect a person's life back home in America. If you were an employer and a job applicant came in wearing a nice suit and tie, but the applicant had a noticeable beer belly, would you hire that person? By law, the employer would not be allowed to ask a job candidate how much beer he drinks or how often he goes to McDonalds, but employers do not want to hire alchoholics, plain and simple.

My liver's doing fine. barely ever drink and am keeping up with my last year's resolution to lose weight and get in shape. So although it may behaving a little more time handling down the toxins that come with weight loss and the various chemicals that I stored in that fat, I hope it's happy. I am still a little worried coming from my few years going to college in mountain filled clean area and then staying in Busan... Shocked
