Ztravelbug Gangwon-Do Adventure
(Skiing, Mountain Climbing, Hot Springs, Casino)
February 6-10, 2008

Kangwon Land is located in the beautiful province of Gangwon-Do. With the mountains at its back and the East Sea at its front- Kangwon Land has become a major tourist destination for its scenic splendor, world-class casino, and one of the most modern ski facilities in Asia. The ski resort has runs for beginners and advanced skiers with 18 slopes to accommodate all levels. Additionally, the resort has modern carpet lifts, while the gondolas arrive at a revolving restaurant at 1340 meters above sea level.

Ztravelbug is combining access to these facilities plus a hiking trip to one of Korea's most revered peaks- Seoraksan. Also guests on this adventure will be given the opportunity to witness the sunrise over the East Sea as Korea ushers in Seollal whilst they eat fresh seafood and walk the sandy beaches.

Seoraksan is the highest mountain in the Taebaek mountain range in the Gangwon province in eastern South Korea. It is located in a national park near the city of Sokcho. After the Hallasan volcano on Jeju Island and Jirisan in the south, Seorak-san is the third highest mountain in South Korea. The Daechongbong Peak of Seoraksan reaches 1,708 metres (5,603 feet). The Taebaek mountain chain is often considered the backbone of the Korean peninsula.

Perhaps the most visited part of the mountain is the main entrance valley to the National Park, fifteen minutes drive from Seokcho city. The valley runs west to east with a paved road leading up to the park's entrance gate. This valley contains many beautiful sites and is well worth a day visit.

315,000won [19 seats left]

N.B HIKING IS OPTIONAL IF YOU WANT TO GO TO SEORAK NATIONAL PARK AND VIEW THE MOUNTAIN OR TRY TO TAKE THE GONDOLA TO THE SUMMIT AND THEN MAKE YOUR WAY BACK TO HANWHA CONDOS THE OPTION IS YOURS OR IF YOU WOULD PREFER TO STAY AT THE CONDO COMPLEX FOR THE DAY THEN THAT IS FINE AS WELL.

FYI the last Ztravelbug trip, the Skiing in Gangchon, was horribly disorganized and left EVERYONE I knew who went very dissatisfied. If anyone plans on participating in this next trip they should be aware that not everything on the itinerary was included in the price, and the people running the event had no idea what was going on. One can hope they will do better, but just be aware.
Also we had no luck trying to get even a partial refund or response from the Ztravelbug team.
* note that although you are there for 4 days, the trip only includes a 2 day ski pass and the itinerary lists food, but it is most likely not included in the package. In the case of Gangchon, Lunch and Dinner were listed on the itinerary but you had to pay to eat. Sunday was listed as "ski all day" but you had to pay extra for rentals and lift passes.

sadly there were mistakes that were made... and miscommunication on the part of Ztravelbug and the promotion team. The djs and sound for the night really salvaged a lot of bad vibes- and the door prizes that were given out, including a trip to Thailand, which was not on the flyer did very little to garnish any compassion by those who had left.

Althoug we did the PR and sound we really felt some accountability in our own assumptions regarding that weekend. And for that reason we are making sure that the information posted is accurate without error and properly translated and double-checked.

Sadly, the artwork and event information needed to be re-done with certain artists that had cancelled and we were forced to put through the information- which caused confusion for all involved. During that time the owner of Ztravel was in China and we were desperately working to salvage a trip and provide a quality night of music, as opposed, to skiing which people expected the next day.

Reviewing the past flyer it does list what was inclusive- passes for the day- but certainly the front can be interpreted differently...

Ztravelbug acknowledges the mistakes that were made the last ski trip and they are working to make sure those assumptions or problems are not repeated. For that reason they are limiting the amount of guests that they will bring on this trip to concentrate on quality and hospitality.

Additionally, miscommunication should certainly not be translated into deceit and deception. Ztravelbug is one of the few companies that not only welcomes expats, but strives to improve their quality of life by showing them places that they would unlikely see or go to in Korea.

Ztravelbug is committed to offering you affordable trips and premium discounts in Korea. They truly value your patronage!

I hope they get their act together. The problems went beyond massive miscommunications and into absolute disorganization. Partial refunds should have been offered for those who attended the Gangchon trip. Sadly, Ztravelbug now has 200 people(and their network of friends) who will likely never use them ever again after that problematic weekend.
