Can't go, already have other travel plans. But, what's the cost of the ferry with a bike?

Sounds like a good time, if not a little on the long side. I see that you have a cruiser for the trip in the 250cc Mirage. Good choice for a long ride. I wouldn't recommend the trip for a sport bike unless you've already lost your nerve endings in your gluteus maximus.

Hope for some good weather and be sure to get yourself plenty of cold-weather gear for the ride. Enjoy your adventure. Ride on.

don't take the ferry from Mokpo!

ride further south and take the ferry from Wando (there's a bridge to the island). it's very scenic, and on the way: there's a bridge to Jindo, spin around the island and see the dogs, the coast, the mountain park,.. great hourlong detour)

wando to jeju is the shortest ferry, every day, you CANNOT miss where it is if you just head to little wando (nice ride to shinjido from wando via the new bridge to that island too)

guido, that sounds wonderful, however I will be returning from my vacation at that time and must go back to work. I plan on hitting up some days in Jeju with the bike this spring, there are a couple of 3 day breaks and will take the ferry from Incheon (overnight) there and back.

Let's ride for sure this spring, I want to get more of a solid group together.

Thanks for the advice...hopefully the weather is a little milder otherw2ise I wouldnt do it...as far as the ferry from Mokpo goes, it is a little bit sentimental but I will catch the wando one back...anyway I will be sure to post my pics and story after.

It's a great trip. I went down to Jeju on the Mokpo ferry (about 6 hours) and came back on the Wando ferry (about 4 hours). I took the bike down there in 2000, and I think it was about 10,000won, one way. However, that was 7 1/2 years ago so it probably went up.

Sounds like a good idea, but you'd best bundle up. It could just as easily snow, and even if it doesn't snow, it'll be cold as balls. But nothing that a nice soak in a mogyotang wouldn't fix.

I will just have to be lucky with the weather...be cold up here but hopefully milder down south....unfortunately it might be my last chance for the big ride before I go back home...i can handle low single digit weather but minus temps are just too much...

Look up the Bike Bitches in Seogwipo when you're on the isle! We don't get many visitors down here.... Embarassed Maybe we'll all have our bikes by then. (There're 3 of us - one's bike sale is pending another expat's departure.)
