I have to meet someone today at Hongdae Station - (obviously Hongdae) - however there is no such thing as Hongdae station...
could someone tell me - does Hongdae station = Hongik University Station
I hate going across that side of the city living in Songpa-gu myself - but I have been offered a Samsung Credit card if I go sign the paperwork there... |

Yes, Hongik Univ. Station is Hongdae
The University is about a 10 minute walk from the subway, if that matters. |

thanks Ya-ta boy...
p.s. - If anyone else wants a Samsung credit card (American Express, Visa or Mastercard) - here are the details....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The cards themselves typically have an annual fee of 20 000 won. This gives you airline points and can be paid for by airline points as well, once you accumulate them. Also, many of the cards have great advantages above and beyond the airline mileage, such as discounts to sporting events, amusement parks, shopping and restaurants.
Youll qualify to get a credit card by meeting the conditions below.
1) If you work in a public school -elementary school, middle school, high school and university-
OR if you work in a company which is listed on the KOSDAQ or KOSPI.
OR if you are a sergeant in US base
2) Have a copy of your passport
3) Have a copy of your Alien Registration Card (expiration date should have more than 3 months remaining)
4) Have a bank account at any bank in Korea
Just email - J.A Kim, [email protected] (A Korean young-lady who wants to help foreigners due to lack of services for foreigners in Korea.
However, as she works during the week - she prefers to only meet on weekends. |

You're funny.
Where I work, they all come in regularly to beg and plead with us to sign up for another credit card. They bend over backwards. Anything to get that commission.
Tell her to come to YOU. She's the one profiting. You keep things like this up and they'll be CHARGING us for the service of registering a credit card.
I bet if you tell her that you can't make it and suggest that she come to you, she will.
Tell her to bring you a free gift too. |

Sure - I have been living here 7 years.... what I should have said is I hate travelling all the way over to that part of town where "people-like-you" hang out.....
Those guys come in all the time to schools where I work - HOWEVER - they usually only BEG the KOREAN teachers to get a card....
I have suggested to them many times (at my schools) - to sign me up - they have all refused...
finally - I have found a Korean girl who speaks English well - willing to give me one...
I am more than happy to travel 45 minutes by subway across to Hongdae (this once) to get the card.... |
