The top 15 most expensive housing locales, with the figure at right being the multiple times average annual salary, required to purchase a home.
The other 35 in the top 50 are in the link above. My town came in at #36. |

Based on income, West Maui, Hawaii (specifically Lahaina and Ka'anapali) are the most expensive places to live and buy housing in the USA. No one ever includes them on these lists, I don't know why (smaller population?). San Francisco has the highest petro prices, Honolulu is often 2nd, but West Maui tops them all. |

The top two cities I'd like to settle down in.
I was born in Burnaby, virtually Vancouver, and went to junior and senior high school in Kamloops, down the road from the much-preferred retirement mecca of Kelowna.
I guess I could always go back to my childhood home of Vancouver Island, and/or end up eventually near Salmon Arm on Shuswap Lake. If there hasn't become absurdly expensive as well.

People don't sell to much in Hawaii, the natives tend to live and die in their houses unless they leave. |

Vancouver is so bloody expensive. I live in Downtown Vancouver (but will be moving out of country next month) but just renting though n the rent goes up every year-gosh! Nice life but very expensive! |
