I wonder what procedures these clinics have for when telling someone they are positive?
It seems insane to turn someone loose on the streets minutes after pronouncing a death sentence on them. |

How do we know that it's *really* 100% confidential? I thought there was a rumor that places which had claimed to be confidential had turned people in regardless. Any info on this? |

Spliff, if he just found out he had it, would he be blabbing away on the internet a few hours later?
Perhaps you should stick to appraising overpriced computers.
By the way, I was wondering. Since you take such a healthy interest in other peoples' computers, what is your set up and how much did you pay?

It's funny that Koreans reverse "positive" and "negative." My wife went for some sort of cancer test, and when she told me the results were positive she didn't understand why I looked so sad.
Anyway, you're probably safe from HIV so long as you haven't slept with Kevin Gesler. |

Confidential HIV testing simply means your name and information is not visible to the lab (they use a code with your initials and numbers assigned to your name) or released to the general public. This is the same in Canada. If you test positive for HIV in Canada having taken a confidential test you are reported to a health official and your status becomes part of your medical record (accessible to doctors in your service).
An anonymous test is the only way to ensure that your information is not known to anyone. It works this way because you never give anyone, including the nurse/doctor testing you your name. You make an appointment and they give you a number, thats all you and they have to identify your blood sample with the results of the test.
I am not 100% sure about the procedures in Korea, but this is how it works in Canada and I would assume its similar. |

I just realized, this clinic is about to get very busy.......which is a shame since employers should be paying for HIV tests (like visa runs). People are going to flock to this place, one of the only places to get a free test, and it's going to kill the clinic. |
I doubt this place is abut to get busy...
The HIV/drug test required by immigration has to be done at a Korean National Government approved hospital.....
Immigration will not accept tests done at free clinics such as this one...
especially anonymous ones.
besides if you have an ARC - it only costs 8,000won to have the drug/HIV test done at a Korean National Government approved hospital...
there is one at Dongdaemun Station exit 13... |

A Health certificate CANNOT be older than 7 (seven) days from the time you apply for your visa at Immigration...
The Police certificate CANNOT be older than 3 (three) months from the time you apply for your visa at Immigration... |

But how much will it cost for those getting the test without their ARC? We need to test to have one issued under the new regs....I hope everyone is making their employer fork out the money for this! |
