well, i have read so many threads criticizing koreans behavior.
Especially, the thread "travelling korean" makes me think about
many things.
i think some koreans need to wake up and fix their behaviour.

anyway, what about foreigners in korea?

I think there are two types of foreigners in Korea.

There are foreigners who are educated and behave well.
They are respected and treated well by korean. Koreans like these foreigners.

On the other hand, there are foreigners who are uneducated and
behave very bad. They are not respected and treated well by
koreans. Koreans dislike these foreigners.

Let me show you some videos which show these two types of foreigners.

First, the foreigners that koreans like

http://play.mgoon.com/Video/V1146931

Second, the foreigners that koreans dislike

any kind of opinion is welcome. Criticism is not fault-finding.

Yeah, I've seen both and want to comment on the second one. If you understand a bit of Korean, then you will be interested in what the Korean anchor on the left says (white shirt/glasses/tie). After watching the scene of the Korean guys and white guys scuffling (2 mins 53 seconds) he says, "Hmmm I know Koreans act bad whilst drunk, but I guess everyone can behave badly when they are drunk too."
I'm a but surprised he didnt start ranting about evil foreigners. So he's got my respect.
And I respected the fact that the 2 white guys dragged their friend away after the scuffle with the Koreans...

Also, anyone notice those 2 English guys before that scene? One tells the reporter to shove off, while the other guy says "I'm so sorry" and drags his drunk friend away.
After all the posts describing racist Korean behaviour as well as bad whitie behaviour, watching this was quite nice actually.

I know a lot of these whities acted badly in this report, but I feel sorry for them if they got arrested and put into a Korean prison. Its like Midnight Express. I hope they dont mess up too bad man.
And speaking of bad whitie behaviour, if you ever grew up in Hong Kong and were British, you know you had a really bad reputation among the kocal Chinese for drunk, disorderly conduct. Treating the locals like dirt, breaking open Chinese graves and kicking their grannies skull around while playing footie. Or throwing concrete blocks over a wall and dropping it 20 feet to parked cars below. Or beating up locals etc. How do I know all this. Cos I was one of them. But that was a long time ago.

Ok, i'll bite.

Firstly, you do know this is a board for Foreign English teachers in Korea, so its safe to assume a large amount of posters wont have the knowledge of Korean to understand the majority of those two clips.

The gist I got was; clip A. Koreans like attractive females from the former USSR who work as models and look good in a bikini. They are also from places which are pretty poor, and thus LOVE korea. They also have taken a liking to korean food...and her covering up her tatoo was a lovely gesture of wanting to fit in (not wanting to offend).

clip B. Didn't understand too much, noticed the drunk "waygookin" being carried off by his friends. They seemed to have caused some trouble.

Point made. I could make a similar point about the koreans which "foriegners" like. just by posting 2 pictures.

Picture A. *insert gorgeous korean girl of your choice*

Picture B *insert drunk ajossi doing one or more of: pissing in an alley/on a car/in the street, vomiting, passed out drunk, with or without his pants, possibily in his own vomit, and so forth*

Would that be fair?

I can sum up your argument this way:

There are two kinds of foreigners. One kind Korean men really like. The other kind, they really don't like.

The first are labelled "Hot Russian poosy we wish we could screw."

The second are labelled "white men trying to pick up our women, and threatening our fragile Korean-man egos with their larger shlongs."

To be fair, the first one was narrated by a woman.

By the way, in the 2nd news clip, the anchor at (2:55) says "Hmmm I know Koreans act bad whilst drunk, but I guess everyone can behave badly when they are drunk too."

Of course who doesn't like Eastern Europeen and Russian models. I believe this is your second post (re: Sky Bar) about them. Sure they are beautiful but they are not your average foreigner in any country including Korea.

Most ajosshi's don't enjoy strapping young foreigners with Korean gf's, but it happens. Haha all joke aside, some foreigners are idiots, but i believe the majority of english teachers are good people who sometimes drink too much, but sometimes thats the best way to get along with the locals as well. Koreans are far from immune to drinking too much, as well.

The first video had Russian models and the second one had a couple of drunk white guys.

I guess Koreans would like the models. I know I do. They were hot albeit a little young. Maybe some Korean women would hate them.

Some people get drunk. I don't know. I didn't see anything over the top in the second video. Nothing for Koreans or anyone to like.

What's your point?

Paying for it don't count.

Both those vids were typically ridiculous pieces of korean journalism.

Vid 1: In front of the nation they ask girl "Do you like Korea"?
Umm..what do they really think the answer is going to be?????

Vid 2: Some dirty waeguks are clandestinely filmed...doing absolutely nothing, really. Umm standing outside a shop? Is this really the threshold for criminal behaviour now here? I occasionally wear a hood in cold weather. maybe I'll get thrown in jail?
Then the presenter sighs.."oh...dear..how many foreigners do we have in our country now???"
