Has anyone done a Visa Run in Bali before? Is it easy? How long does it take, etc. Thanks. |

I'm pretty sure there isn't a Consulate in Bali.
I went there once and had to do my visa headaches in Singapore. The woman working at the desk was a real witch. She didn't accept my paperwork from DHL because it had the name of the Consular on it, and he wasn't in when it had arrived that morning. My school had spoken and faxed their office more than once to confirm that my visa could be processed there. They had told my school no problem. I stopped by in the morning- just before lunch, and had this woman scream at me. Really!!! My paperwork ended up getting sent back to DHL headquarters. I tried to contact them, but didn't have enough time to go and pick up the papers- My flight back to Korea was leaving that night. I called my school and cried, they called the embassy and complained. I was told to go back to the Consulate but at that point if I would have seen that woman again I would have hit her. So, I ate a nice lunch, and complained to the Philipino waitress who let me smoke a ciggie in her pub. She told me that she knew the woman I was talking about and had always found her to be very rude. That made me feel better. DHL ended up sending the paperwork back to Korea and I flew to Osaka for the day.
So back to your question-
I really don't think there is an office in Bali, but you could do it in Singapore, but be prepared for one tough, terrible lady. Hopefully they have reassigned her by now. I called and complained several times.
Potentially it could take a whole day- drop it off in the morning and pick it up a few hours later.
Good luck

guess you want a holiday and are trying to do both at the same time. but, getting a visa can be tough enough without having to deal with indonesian bureaucracy. go somewhere a little easier who are more used to dealing with this sort of thing and try and save your holiday for another time. |

Is there a comprehensive list of which south east asian countries have Korean embassies? I'm American and I decided if I have to leave the country every three months, I'm not going to keep going to Ozaka since there are so many other places to see in Southeast asia (thailand, Hong kong, etc.) |

This might help you better than the 'do your own research' advice:
The nearest Korean embassy or consulate to Bali, that is in Indonesia, would be Surabaya. Or you can visit nearby East Timor, which also has an embassy.
If you want to find another vacation spot in Asia where can also get your Korean visa work done, you can always check this site, which provides a map of all the Korean embassies and consulates in Asia. |
