Every employer I've ever worked for I've always asked for both a reference record of employment written on company paper with contact info. Also I had each document signed to make it look more legitimate.
As far as know some public schools want proof of employment to determine your category on the pay scale. Failure to provide these documents may mean less pay. I suppose if you don't have these documents you may use your E2 visas in your passport as proof of employment, but don't expect your employer to go check your work history through immigration on your behalf. That's your responsibility. |

I agree with chachee99
Yes, I had to ring my old school several times, & get them to fwd a 'proof of prior teaching' form to EPIK, so I could start on the Level 2 salary. Get a Korean coworker to help you, if necessary. |

With PS jobs proof of experience may affect your pay scale. If you have a Korean friend on the faculty of your old school, contact her, ask her to get that official experience statement form from the school, scan it and send it to you.
That's what I did and it was accepted.
Good luck. |

Call, email, or fax the school and ask them to fax you or send you or whatever a document. |
