Has anyone out there had a vasectomy done in Korea? I have enquired near where I live in Incheon and it will cost 200000 Won plus around 20000 for some follow up medicine.
The clinic said the op should take around 20 minutes then I can walk home without too much discomfort. No sex for 10 days and no alcohol for 3 days.
Any advice or verification on the pricing would be appreciated.

The procedure is about 300 000 won at our center. It is an outpatient procedure. The advice they gave you seems good as well as the price. This procedure is not covered under national health insurance

I guess I should have added: Do you guys know of any clinics that can do the procedure in BunDang? I've tried to find out about it here from friends but most are not of an age where they need to worry about it so... no dice!

Why on Earth would you make yourself sterile? There are tons of men and women who can't have kids and you choose to do that.
You might as well kill yourself.

sounds like the same procedure (laser) I had done a couple of years back - it was a hospital/clinic up in the northeast; I walked out of the hospital when I was done, drove back to work, and put in a few hours before going home to rest for the weekend. I was tender, and bruised, but functional in 2-3 days, and healed up nicely within 2 weeks.

Insurance did not cover it, but it was well worth it in C & my case. Please note that, as an under-40 unmarried male with no children, I had to go to 3 different doctors/hospitals to find one who would listen to our reasons & agree to the procedure. If you are younger, they will also suggest that you also do a set of sperm bank donations, as well - some men reverse the surgery later, but reversing is a lot harder than getting it done.

If needed, I could probably dig up the name of the doctor & hospital for anyone interested. The procedure itself was fast, and not too discomforting. It is more just mentally getting past your basic biological instinct - past the 'reptilian brain,' as it were.

Regards,

Glen

^^I've never married and really don't want kids due to the fact that I don't want to be an old father. I'll turn 40 this year and am contemplating the surgery. Besides, there are women out there to date who also don't want children. This is a sign of the times.

I finally got the vasectomy done in Incheon. It cost 200 000W with 25000 for the follow up medicine.
It was virtually pain free apart from the initial needle into the said area to be worked on!
The friendly and professional attitude of the staff was great, the surgery was very modern and the classical music during the 20 minute procedure was very soothing.
I will find out the exact location for you.

And there are millions of children waiting to be adopted. They can have one of them.
