I have no idea what to get him as he will be getting me a plane ticket after all. Would he like a book about the United States (or the region I am from or is that too bland?) I thought maybe some postcards and a book about film (movies) since I am sure that no one has probably got him a gift like this. Or maybe I will get him a shot glass. Do you guys have any suggestions? I have read in my Korea book that it is common to give new acquaintances small gifts from your country.

Can I bring a bottle of Vodka on the airplane? (since they have new liquid rules)

A bottle of whiskey would be good (unless the boss is a non-drinker--rare in Korea, but...) but it really isn't necessary. The gift-giving thing is more of a rumor than a reality.

something from your country or another you visited seems good. something they can't get in korea. either that or a box of fruit or gift set of some sort.

you can pick up vodka or whiskey at the duty free stores in the airport. I did this last year but when my coworker picked me up at the airport she told me none of the other teachers had brought gifts when they came. No problem, more for me.

Woul;d you give a future boss in your home country a gift? He's not getting you a ticket out of the goodness of his heart, it's a business transaction. If he didn't give a ticket...he wouldn't get a teacher.

If you have to give him something...give him the clap.

Get him or her a psychedelic colored butt plug. You can demonstrate how to wear it.
